I actually made gaskets as the ones I got from deere were the wrong size. Where on the loader and backhoe valves should I look? What do the relief valves look like? Someone mentioned something about banjo nuts, on the loader valve there are 2 banjo nuts on the bottom one bigger than the other one, a...

I cleaned both filters in the reservoir, it did not seem to make a difference. Are there any other filters? The hydraulic fluid is dark colored. I am just guessing, but the fluid might even have some water in it, would a fluid change help and whats the procedure for changing out the fluids. How many...

I was able to jb weld the housing on the hydraulic pump, it leaks, but only a drip here and there. I filled the hydraulic fluid back up to the top of the little window about half way up the hydraulic reservoir. Now, none of the hydraulics work and I can see little bubbles in the window in the hydrau...

2010 front Hydraulic pump leaks
I was able to get my 2010 running and lift the front bucket enough to block it up. My buddy brought his wrecker over and we winched it out and up the mountain. It starts up, but eventually cuts out under load. The front hydraulic pump is leaking somewhere near the back where the shaft connects into ...

A few buddies came up to help me get the 1010 running. Turns out the fuel line was clogged in the fuel sediment bowl housing. It almost started. In trying to find #1 TDC, I stuck a wooden dowel in the spark plug hole. The end of it broke off and got stuck in the head. Now #1 has no compression. My b...

Thanks for the links Tigerhaze, when I bought the 1010, it did not have a battery. Last night I connected the battery ground to positive. The tractor seemed to almost want to start. I need to wait for an extra set of hands and a fully charged battery to feather the choke and throttle, while I rotate...

I tried rotating the distributor with no luck. I was wondering if my 1963 JD 1010c Crawler (Gas) is positive ground or negative ground? The positive terminal on the coil does to the distributor. It has a generator (no alternator). I connected it to negative ground, it cranks over but wont start. Tha...

I just noticed 1010 views on this thread for my 1010. Hopefully this is a good sign! ;oP The #1 compression stroke is at the 3 oclock position, #3 at 12 oclock, #4 at 9 oclock, and #2 at 6 oclock. What general direction should the rotor be pointing @ #1 TDC when looking at the top of the distributor...

My Dad and I did this past weekend and #1 compression stroke is at the 3 oclock position, #3 at 12 oclock, #4 at 9 oclock, and #2 at 6 oclock. What general direction should the rotor be pointing @ #1 TDC when looking at the top of the distributor....12, 3, 6 or 9????? Maybe it doesn't matter as long...
