Best manual is straight from Deere.
Better than an IT manual.

All we need is the serial#.
No picture required.

MC is on the dash by the ignition switch.
40 is on the Flywheel housing left side.

Drain the radiator down and clean the area around the hole. Silver solder works very well. Be sure to use flux. Do not over heat!! There are low temperature solders available with a flux that changes color when at the right temp. I have a heat crack repair that has held for several years with solder...

Leave it upside down.
Fill it with diesel fuel, fuel oil, or paint thinner.
Add a grease zerk to the drain plug opening....
Pump grease in till you have fuel coming from the ends of the rockshaft.
Turn it by hand.
Maybe....

If it were mine I would just use unleaded.
I have been running old iron for years with unleaded and yet to find any issues with my tractors.

Yes the hoses are available.
You may have to go to a industrial supplier and not an ag dealer.

You may want to check your ignition switch also when checking power to your coil....

Check to see if you have good + and - at the coil. A test light will work.
If they are good lightly file the points......a new 100 dollar bill works well or a points file.
If no gain, replace the coil.
Make sure you get rye right one.....
6 volt if set up as original.
