If you found anything other than clean fuel at your timing window, then your governor ring is toast. If your tank is clean and the flow of fuel is good then I wouldn't bother with it. You should make sure the return is free of a blockage and that your fuel is flowing freely through the system. Howe...

Mouse Turds, Dead IP or ??
Hello all! I recently ran into an issue with my 350 Crawler/Loader. It started doing the run fine for a few seconds/minutes then slowly idles down and then dies. As the subject indicated, I found 6 or so pieces of the governor ring when I removed the timing window on my JDB331 injection pump. Which ...

Re: Throttle cable lubrication
Our shop compressor is set for 120 pounds, I connect a piece of small tubing to an air blowing nozzle and use a piece of hose slipped over it and the throttle cable with 2 or more hose clamps on both ends. Just pressure it up, takes a while for the pressure to push it thru. We use fluid film. My da...

Re: A few musts
Here's a couple of common fixes we seem to do to most machines: Lubricate throttle and winch cables. I put a rubber hose over the cable, spray in some lubricate, attach a air hose, pressure it up and let it sit overnight Sounds like a great idea! What kind of pressure do you take it to and do you k...

Re: Top 10 Best Upgrades to do to your Dozer!
Just thought I'd start a thread to see what people are doing to their dozers that they would recommend as a "Must Do" for people who are trying to bring their old worn out machines back to life! This can be anything other than standard maintenance type items that would normally be done. Please rate...

JD 350 Crawler Fuel Filter Change procedure.
This procedure is for a John Deere 350 Loader/Crawler Diesel with the dual round cartridge filters (WIX 33166 (Aprox $10) OR Fram C1191A (Approx $7) with 1 glass sediment bowl and 1 aluminum sediment bowl. In an effort to help those in the future with Changing the Filters on a JD 350 Loader I've inc...

their is a primer lever on my 350. it is part of the the fuel pump, just feel back and see if you find the lever. then open your filter bleeds and pump it a bunch of times. next you can loosen the fuel line at the injector pump and bleed to there. turn over and bleed injectors. once it fires I blee...

I don't know the procedure indicated in the service manual of the 350, but on many of the JD indirect injected diesel engines you generally bleed the system in the direction of flow- i.e. usually you first bleed the filters, then bleed the injectors to completely remove the air. If you bleed the in...

Cracking injectors is to bleed the injectors, not the filters, assuming I am understanding you correctly. Lavoy Are you saying that when I change the filters this weekend, I won't have to bleed the injectors if I bleed the filters by using the bleeder screws? (I assume I prime the system by Crankin...

Should be the same concept, just maybe different style filters. Lavoy I know some have hand pumps to prime the fuel system, but on something like a 350, has anyone had any luck pre-filling the canister type filters with fuel via the bleeder screw holes on the top and not having to crack the injecto...

Fuel Filter Change Procedure and electronic Manuals...
Howdy All!!! First let me say, that I do understand the importance of service manuals... (Please refrain from saying that I need to go buy one... I will in time! :-) ) But does anyone have (an electronic version PDF? DOC of a Service Manual for a JD 350 (NOT a B or a C) Crawler/Loader? (this way I c...
