430 vs 420

Hello, I know this has been brought up before in earlier posts, but can't find it right now. I would like to know what are the main differences between a 420 and a 430. There is a 430 listed near me and thought about going to look at it. Thanks, Dan

I had a 1973 Polaris TX snowmachine that would run great then all of a sudden would die, I cleaned the carbs several times, replaced the sparkplugs, wires, kill switch, coil, key switch and still the damn thing would shut down when it felt like it. Then one night while tearing it apart again I moved...

Hello, we moved my father in laws 1010 about 45 miles on a small ford roll back with no problems, and Vermont is far from being flat. His also had a winch and canopy on it. We also put down some rubber mat's under the tracks to help keep it from wanting to slide on the steel body.
Thanks, Dan

I use to help a guy in town gather sometimes and he had a team of work horses at the time, he would feed them chewing tobacco. As much as I don't like horses, his were pretty good, they would stop a a given spot and stay until he gave a command, then go to the next gathering spot and stop till he ga...

Hello, was wondering if that is your Oliver HG on Cletrac.org, we had a 1946 HG 42 with a Ware loader that we used to gather sap with for years, that thing was great in the snow, sometimes if we had a lot of snow I would have to break the sugaring roads a month or so before we started sugaring, but ...

Going to look at a 420

Hello, after reading all the stuff on what to look for on a 350 dozer before buying one ( we already bought one), I am now wondering if there are simular or usual relayed things to look for on a 420 since there is one near by for sale, it has a blade and a winch, the guy who owns it doesn't real kno...

Lock washers

I have a question about the lock washers, in some of your pictures you said there should never be lock washers used here, I hate to ask a dumb question, but why? I guess I have never been told the thinking behind this. Thanks, Dan

Andrew, that would be great if you could get a picture of it with the hood off. As I am going to go with pipeline this year, I don't need the dozer to gather with, but still need to move snow from time to time.
Thanks, Dan

Lavoy, after seeing a picture of the tank heater, I now know what you are referring to. When I first started working for my hometown highway department, we use to put them one our gasoline powered dump trucks, but now everything is diesel's with block heaters and now we have a huge town garage, so n...

Thanks Lavoy for your reply, you had said earlier in another reply that you use 1000 watt heaters on your 350's, how much does one of those cost and do you have them in stock? Thanks, Dan
