Re: Lubing Roller

Stan has a post in the FAQ section about 450 serial numbers and changes. According to that the engine will be turbocharged and it will have wet steering clutches if you have a C model. Some late B models apparently had wet clutches also but were not turbocharged. It is possible the undercarriage ha...

Re: Lu47Dan is still around

Glad to hear! After owning a hoe for many years I'm convinced it has two modes of operation.

1) About to Leak
2) Leaking

I'm always changing hoses or rebuilding cylinders on that dumb thing.....

Injection Pump

After doing a fair amount of research I ended up sending my JDB injection pump to Diesel Care and Performance in Memphis, TN. After using Dr Loch's( which is awesome by the way) thread on injection pumps I determined it was going to cost me around $200 in parts and tools to rebuild my pump. DCP did ...

Re: Grille removal

I'm sorry I forgot about this, my angles are 24" long. You don't need the chains, once you let the loader down on them you can't drive them out ( I tried).

Re: Grille removal

Ya, Ken did a scorched earth policy when he left the boards for some odd reason. I'll measure my angles tonight and let you know but they are just 2 pieces of 4" angle. You raise the loader up high then lay them on the exposed parts of the cylinder shafts and then slow let the arms down until they c...

Re: 450C Hydraulic pump

I just put a front seal in mine, it's a little early to call it fixed but so far so good. I have almost no play in the end shaft, I think the seal was just dry rotted.

Re: Main Pump

Just a quick follow up for closure. I removed the main pump and there was zero play in my input shaft. I think the seal had simply dry rotted out. I was able to source a seal. I called every bearing/seal place within an hour of me no one had it and it was going to be between 18 and 30 dollars. I fou...

Main Pump

My main hydraulic pump is starting to leak. It leaks about a drip every 12 to 15 seconds(not under load at idle). I assume the pumps can be rebuilt but looking at the parts breakdown it doesn't appear there is a bushing in the front plate for the input shaft which is where it's leaking. Do I have to...

Re: Mo Money,Mo Money,Mo Money

Ya the liberals call it crumbs we someone else does it, when they had a tax bill a few years back $500 bucks a year was "HUGGGGEEEEE".

I gave all my employees $.50 hour a raise because of the tax bill and I may increase their profit sharing as well.

Re: This global warming thing is down right cold...

I believe the climate changes in cycles that I can see in decades, I'm sure it cycles in centuries that are measurable now that we keep good records. I also believe it cycles in millenniums that we have glimpse and clues about. How do we know what the cycles truly are? The scientist are telling us t...

Re: thinking newer truck

I just got a new F-350 with the 6.7 retiring my old F-350 with 7.3. I've only had it a couple weeks but I could not be happier so far and at 950 pounds of torque I can't wait to hook onto the 5th wheel and head out to find some hills! I personally think the 6.0's that ford made in the 2003 to 2007 g...
