Re: Banjo style fittings

I hear what you're saying I guess what confuses me is I wasn't taking them apart they just started randomly leaking. When I replaced my IP it did come with all new copper rings.

Banjo style fittings

Is there a trick to these banjo fittings sealed? I purchased a skid steer a couple months ago and after getting home I discovered it had a fuel leak. I changes a few o rings on the injector pump but what it turned out to be was a banjo style fitting to an injector at the back of the fuel pump. I too...

Re: City people, gotta love them, or laugh at them

My wife of almost 30 years now was not a city gal but she wasnt real country either when we got married. A couple months in we were eating some pork chops she made (with her dad for a witness!) and I brought up something about pigs. She informed us that she didn't eat any pig products but bacon as s...

Re: rust penetrants

I'm a huge fan of the kroil, plus is smells so look good. As far as the test it doesnt say anything about rust. My guess they were testing the same fastener with differnt lubricants.

Re: Brocken bolts on clutch housing

I'm a huge fan of heat and impact for broken bolts. I'd heat the area around the broken bolt and then hit the bolt with a air impact and then try and use a chisel or easy out to back it out.

Not just any parts ....these specifically. The aliens from Mars want them to power their hyper drives and the Russians are working with them in trade for ray guns!

For real!

Re: 450 C Final Drive

How do Bruce and i have the exact same post count on the same thread????? Well I'm plus 1 now! I would just inspect everything and make sure the clutches are in good shape. The wet clutches last a very long time and I would only fix the side in question. Now if you decided to replace chains and you ...

Re: 450 C Final Drive

I think as long as you keep removing the excess fluid from the finial drive and adding fluid to the transmission you'll be ok. I would guess it's going to get worse and worse as the seal continues to fail. At some point you might not be able to keep it under control.

So I am checking the fill plug on the side of the final drive (back of the dozer) where the gear is. not on top of the track but behind the dozer. that's the final drive fill level correct? I could be wrong on this one.
Yes that is the correct location to check the finial drive.

Re: 450 C Final Drive

My guess is you'll have to pull the final drive to figure that one out. Which means splitting the tracks, so it's going to be some work. Probably a seal between the steering clutches and the finial drive has failed. I assume you have the wet clutches.

Re: 450 injection pump

If you read this post you'll find some very good information from DrLoch: http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11706&p=64441&hilit=drloch#p64441 However, when I ran down all the parts and tools I found the cost was going to be about $200 for me to do it myself. I found a place ...
