Yes, you can leave it in forward, but if it is a pressure issue, it can still slip. I would rebuild your own, then you know what you have. Lavoy Thanks. Not sure if I will do the rebuild, but the parts don't seem crazy, just the labor...But, yes, rebuild my own parts seems good. Do you have any est...

You can't disconnect the reverser, it is there and functioning unless you completely remove the unit and convert the crawler to straight gear drive. Checking pressure is free, no reason not to look into it first. Lavoy Thanks. But is it possible to leave the reverser in Forward 100% of the time and...

the heat is from the clutch pack slipping from lack of pressure from bad seals you are frying the clutch pack as you run it more Thanks for the reply. I will need to replace the entire clutch pack anyway, correct? Not saying it's great...I have all mechanical geared transmission. Do you think it's ...

JD 350C Reverser Problem
Hello, I have a JD 350C with newly rebuilt engine. Due to a long story that involved a blown reverser radiator circuit, we had to install a dedicated external reverser cooler...The unit probably ran for 100 or so hours with crappy radiator fluid mixed with transmission fluid. We flushed the reverser...

Follow-up
Just to follow-up on this thread. It turned out that I had no compression in one of the three cylinders...Rings broken in one, partially stuck in another...Complete engine rebuild followed! Much better now. So the unit would not start due to poor compression (air and fuel were fine)...Thanks for eve...

Oil Cooler or Reverser Cooling Circuit (Both use radiator)
Before changing fluid, you must rule out problems: 1) You may have a blown oil cooler (engine oil), which could reside where you mount your oil filters (it has a circuit from the radiator). If the cooling circuit gets a hole in it, you will mix coolant/water with your engine oil. CHECK Engine Oil at...

350C reverser radiator core blew and mixed hydro oil & H
All, Thanks to all for their previous help. Well after a full engine rebuild and radiator core 1 year ago (about 100 hours of use), I have now come to the 100% conclusion that my radiator core for the reverser hydraulic fluid cooling system blew and my coolant and completely fouled up my Reverser Sy...

Oil in Radiator
All, Thanks for all of your help in the past! Could not begin to deal with my machine without everyone's help (and support)... My 350C has had a recent engine rebuild (complete) in the last 100+ hours. New recore on the radiator as well. I now have oil in my radiator. I tried to pump water into the ...

Oil in radiator on JD 350C crawler
All, I am going to add to this thread as the symptoms are quite the same with my JD 350C crawler... A little background on my unit (yes, no crawler is cheap!): - Less than 100 hours ago, I had a complete engine rebuild and installed a new injector pump and injectors. - Also had radiator re-cored. - ...

I hope you are right! I will monitor the situation, but I probably already have 15+ hours on the new engine...I will monitor closely by the hour and see how she does...Thanks! Bob, It could be that the rings just haven't seated yet. Give her a chance to seat in and then see what the smoke does. It m...

Re: slipped track and the irony of new rollers
We all know this feeling...I have to say, after repacking my track tensioners and replacing all 8 small idler guide plates, I have never dropped a track...Both of these repairs are probably less than $200 total if you DIY...I had the plates made at a local machine shop...

http://www.jdcrawlers.com/uploads/paint_job_909_copy.jpg Nice rig...I love the boom. I would really like to make a boom for mine that could handle 2000 pounds...I would love to somehow work around my winch...A manual boom would be fine or run my winch through it as the cable... Is this crazy to thi...

The long after-story
All, Thanks for all of your help. I wanted to close the loop on this saga...OK, turns out that the series of events went like this: - Symptom 1: 350C shut down immediately... - Reason 1: Injector pump shaft seized and stopped pumping fuel into engine. - Solution 1: Got remanufactured pump...ran for ...

Yes, I have put $7K into a good JD350C! So you are way ahead of me...I have one in Halifax, VT...350C...Have learned alot and would be willing to help...My advice... - Don't run the engine as is, esp. if your injection pump is STILL working...You could ruin it! Take care of it as it's expensive and ...
