Thanks for info adjusted brakes and now steers like a dream

ok will study up on brake adjustment & start there thanks

will fire up and see tomorrow but if I remember when I release one side both tracks start to turn the released one a little more than the other but takes forever to turn But seems like if i pull one side with all I can get then will turn on a dime now and then

the long & short of my problem is when in gear & moving i can pull back & both tracks stop instantly like they should. But when pulling on either one by itself i now can barely turn requires a few reverse trips to get turned either way. but occasionaly seems to grab.Is this possibly just handle adju...

Hello been 2yrs since last visit. I have a 1966 350 straight & am having trouble with steering. Up in northern mn anyone know if this would be something a garage mechanic could tackle. I do have the service manual. Thanks

Used this site many times when I first purchased my 350. Now been 2 problem free years in the woods until today. Crawler starts fine but when I let off the key engine dies. Ordered new switch but wasn't the problem. Anybody got any ideas. Thanks

was thinking on doing the same thing. i have hydraulic winch and aux is already on crawler so just need to mount but have same concern is there enuff power in the hydraulics for now i hook and pull with the bucket but this requires getting close to trees and backing out of woods if you get it hooked...

In post you mention that if gas electric solinoid would help identify yr but didnt state what yr the change was made. Any clue?

I have a straight 350 no clue what year it is. The panel with serial number is gone. Have now read sum threads that state the steering assist was only available on the 1970. Is this correct if so then would be a 1970 since it has this option. Any info be appreciated. Thanks

I got the new alternator energized with switchable power but had to hook other wire to main lug on starter to send charge back to the battery. I have 14.8 volts on both sides of the ammeter but the gauge does'nt even wiggle. I tried a new ammeter gauge same result. Any clue as to why the gauge does'...

Also have parts trouble with most JD dealers but if you have a n industrial JD dealer near you they seem to have much more knowledge and are able to get most parts.Although the knowledge on this site is invalueable tons of experience found here for nailbenders like me.
