With cover off clutch pedal out engine running should sling oil everywhere. Look for a small pipe plug should take allen wrench, this is were you check oil pressure . If main shaft is not turning it will not have oil pressure , main shaft also turns the transmission oil pump.

You have the cover off the top of transmission and no shafts turn when engine is running . I have seen center of clutch break out .

I know the 450 b c d & e 's used the same transmission & HLR unit . With improvement each time they changed letters . I read about this on the message board some were just don't remember were I found it . Maybe someone else can tell where it's at .

After reading your post again you are talking about engine oil . The oil behind the starter there is a oil pressure port with a oil sending unit that goes to the oil pressure gauge .

I would not weld the track frame to the cross member . The cross member is made out of cast & the track frame is metal . I worked at a jd INDUSTIAL dealership for twelve years and have see it tried never see the weld hold. The track frame has bolts & bushing in it so it have some give . If the machi...
