I mine this site to help simplify, and shorten, problems, maintence, and hopefully expand my knowledge of the best machine we've ever bought (two 450Cs) . No other way to put it than......I would be adrift if "JD Crawlers" went away. Am deeply indebted to Lavoy and the much experienced. Kevin from I...

I'm as green as they come here, however, if it is as stated above I don't see it.

Over the last few years, I've found a wealth of much needed information on here. As I progress (hopefully) on our 450C repair and trouble shooting am certain I'll need, and find, much more time earned wisdom.

To date:...Monday I called the local parts shop, via cell phone, and ordered the two oil filters and two air filters needed to preform basic service. Pulled the Positive cable from the Batt to starter routing. The upper end of the cable had had the factory lug removed and a redneck ?, gerry rigged ?...

450C Battery cables/wiring.

To All: We have two 450C crawlers. One slightly newer, and closer to being factory stock than the other. Was operating the newer one the other day and in mid-load, and RPMs) while easing a tree over...the machine just shut off. No noise..just shut off as fast a person drops a lightswitch. To hot to ...

My wife and I bought a piece of land 3 years ago that had been terribly ignored. (The farm still has a few wagon ruts in it.) After months of burning and clearring the farm is starting to cash flow. We're now to the point creek crossings can be put it and/or brought up in to the 21st century. What s...

To all: Deeply appreciate the input from around the country. I moved some for $50.00/ton. Bucket on our 450CA is 1.3 cyd..so rough out the weight/cubic yards ratio...as stated...don't always have easy access to scales...and always round up to asure the end user receives their money's worth. Reason I...

Price of soil.

I haven't been on here for some time and am in need of some sage advice. Now that Iowa is where I can move some soil we're starting to build creek crossings in a small valley, with our 450C, that is bottomless black dirt. Am piling some and starting to sell some. This is a good as black dirt can bec...

If in any workable condition, I'd consider myself lucky to have a machine such as yours, in the picture, parked in our barnlot.

My wife drives the route where the driver hit the bridge with the backhoe. She said the trackhoe spun off the flatbed in a circular motion and landed upright on it's tracks. Know some of the law enforcment, however, haven't heard yet where and/or how far pieces of the chains and binders flew. They'r...
