What do you think of the sprocket? I would say there is maybe 1/16th inch play in each link. The rollers measure worn about .070 inch from the round side to flat side.

I meant the seat that you sit on and the whole assembly, fuel tank, battery box etc. I've talked to Lavoy and he said that it isn't necessary. That's good because I'd then have to also remove the ROPS.

Next question, does the seat assembly have to come off to replace the steering clutch? The book makes it look like it does but Andre's post doesn't.

To me it looks as if I have about half as much tooth as you do.

Give me your opinion on this sprocket.

I don't have anything around to compare it to. If it were yours would you replace it while you had it off?

I will try to get the thing torn apart this weekend and then give Lavoy a call. With all the labor and time involved I'd hate to use poor quality parts.

350B steering clutch R&R

I have decided to take the plunge and repair the steering clutch/brake on my crawler by myself. I'm not a stranger to overhauling tractors, but this will be the first time I've dug into one of these. I reckon I'll be having a lot of questions. I've got the operator's, parts and tech manual and am ab...

So basically;
Track off
Sprocket off
Final drive off
Replace band, disks and anything else needed
Final drive back
Sprocket back
Track back

Easy as pie, right?

Though I wouldn't mind visiting Massachusetts once again, I don't think my pickup could handle hauling this thing 1500 miles.
Good luck with yours.

Anyone had a steering clutch fixed professionally?

If so what did it cost?
My 350 won't turn left anymore, and I think I have it adjusted as far as I can. I'm too busy-old-lazy-inept to do it myself and I was thinking of having the local Deere industrial dealer do it. Wondering what kind of sticker shock I'm in for.

350 crawler will start!

I finally got my 350 crawler running again, the one from the thread below. It took a young whipper snapper from the local JD industrial shop to figure it out. See if you can figure out what the problem is from the paragraph below. This tractor probably had a backhoe on it at one time because it had ...

I don't know about the 350 manual in particular but for the most part those from Davenport are better than from Deere. Many of those from Deere are little better than a photocopy.

I have a Deere catalog has the "estimated initial cost" of a 450 with 6410 (manual angle) blade and 14 inch grousers at $12,386.88 I can't find the prices for the 6410 and 6405 blades, but the 6310(for a 350) is about $400 cheaper than a 6305. So to make a long story short you are probably talking j...

A perfect score... didn't answer a single question I asked in trying to help you. Frankly, you're not listening. I'm done. The pump is a DB. We have tried current directly from the battery to the solenoid. Yes, we had the solenoid out of the original pump and it was working. Now it has a new pump w...

This is a new rebuilt pump that just came off a test stand. It has now had two pumps on it and it acts exactly the same way. As for the solenoid, what are the chances that the first one failed just as I shut it off, and then I got a newly rebuilt pump with a bad one in it? I think that I will have t...
