Thank you, I know my post was long, and perhaps you overlooked my statement "Thinking that perhaps the loose wire had come loose from the female spad connector, I attached it. I turned the key and the 450B started. While that was a quite welcome result, it was also incorrect as the starter button sh...

450 B Dash Wiring Layout Needed - starting issue
I turned the key, pressed the starter button and got nothing. The 450B had started very well since my purchase @6 months ago. As the 450B is @100 miles from my home and I have limited tools when there, my decisions on how to repair are not always based on high quality diagnostics. I thought perhaps ...

Just a follow-up for anyone who might be a similar newbie, learning as they go. The seat cushion comes up and allows access quite easily, it isn't bolted down.... I discovered this after not being able to find bolts :) Someone suggested the side panel access, and sure enough they were right, the hos...

Hi Bryce, Thanks for the comment. I have already replaced a couple of hoses, so do understand that routine, but as I couldn't get it off today, and the dozer is 80+ miles away, I am hoping I can get the replacement before going back. Do you know if the seat can be removed for easy access to those ho...

So today I looked and found one of the main hoses from the crawler to the backhoe is broken. This is one of the two hoses that has the quick connectors. I suspect I can change it by removing the seat. Is this the best way to do so? Hopefully I can get order both hoses with the quick disconnects base...

Hoses
I bought this JD450B several months ago, with deferred maintenance. I had the steering clutches replaced and a few other things. I have been using the machine a bit, but keep blowing out hoses. There are many hoses in bad shape, unfortunately the shop that did the work didn't point it out to me. I h...

I got the hose off, wow that was simple.
Suggestions on where to get a replacement?
I am wondering if it is cheaper to have it rebuilt by someone like this company, local to where I am tomorrow: http://www.mcgillhose.com/site/cfs.htm

I just had both of mine done. I bought non-ebay parts and cost of parts including core charges was nearly $3k, so 1/2 of that for one side. Labor is going to vary depending on what else is found, I had rusted frozen parts, a plate that controlled side movement of rollers that was bad, as well as a f...
