Re: Potential 420c Purchase
I went and looked at it again. I never did investigate enough to figure out 6v or 12v generator. It stalled out when you tried to turn it and I decided to pass on it due to the amount of clutch work it was probably going to need.

Re: Potential 420c Purchase
Thanks. How would I check the voltage on the generator without disconnecting the battery? Or am I stupid and I just need to look at it.

Potential 420c Purchase
I went and glanced at a 420c today….it was snowing and ugly outside. It starts. Doesn’t stay running. Sounds like a ignition issue. Drive sprocket on one side was worn. Drive sprocket on the other side was in really good shape. Of course I don’t recall which one is which. But one looked like one off...

MC Front Idlers
Gents, I had to pull the front idler off, do to the angle iron it riding on breaking loose. I decided to tear the idler apart to regrease it and as I put it back together I realized there are no seals between the idler wheel and the idler mounting brackets that hose the tensioning springs. So are th...

Re: JD 420C vs MC tune up parts
Thanks Lavoy
I keep one extra set of almost all of that at my house so I don’t have to run to town when I need them.
I’m pretty excited about this little dozer it has a winch as well.

JD 420C vs MC tune up parts
I’ve got a MC, I am thinking about buying a 420C I stumbled on. It hasn’t run in a long time blah blah blah. Basically I want to go over slap some fresh fuel, battery, points, plugs, condenser and see if I can make it go pop. Question for the team is, it the same battery 6v, points, plugs, condenser...

Re: MC generator belt
Thanks you Jim.
My plan is to go to the local tractor supply and see if I can cross it to a universal belt. So thanks for all the information.

Can anyone tell me the size and length belt I need for the generator? Mine broke and I lost the belt somewhere before I got the replacement.
Thanks rob

MC Hydraulic Pump Pressure and Flow
I was curious if anyone could tell me what the specs are on the hydraulic pumps on a 50ish MC. I would like to know pressure and GPM. TractorData.com says 600PSI and 4.25 GPM however i want to double check their info. I am buying a new Hydraulic valve and want to match it to the specs of the machine...

Re: MC 6 Way Blade
Here is how it is currently mounted. The Welder I have used in the past to do work on other equipment hasn't made it over yet but I think we will build a similar bracket. Maybe moving the verticle that the hydraulic arm mounts to back as far as we can to potentially shift more weight to the rear. No...

Re: MC 6 Way Blade
Well here is something to chuckle about, the bracket that the hoist cylinder on the left hand side broke today. Started looking at the bracketes on both side and wow they are both cobbled together crud. So I think I will tear them both off and build all new brackets that mount to the tractor. Pictur...
