No slam on your carb guy, but what exactly did he do as far as rebuilt. I have "rebuilt" a few rebuilt carbs over the years, and most people just soak them, put in gaskets and call it good. My "new" 40C idles a lot like my last one. After it warms up, the idle pulses, probably from 1000 down to 500 and back up; engine runs fine otherwise. I just had the carburetor rebuilt before I started using it this winter, but was doing this before. Is this common? Where should I start?

Same thing happened to my last 40C. Float had leaked, was full of gas. Flooded out. Let it sit, restarted OK until next time. Got a new float and never had the problem again.
