How to Adjust The Rear Crossbar
I've been ignoring a 4 year old problem on my John Deere 455D . How do I adjust the rear crossbar ? On both the left and right side sprockets, the inside of both sprockets is hitting against the inside edge of the track roller. In my parts manual I noticed that the brackets ( AT52179 on the left and...

I have a 1984 455D with about 7500 hours. It was totally rebuilt at 7000 hours about 10 years ago and marginally used since then. The machine starts right up with no starting fluid on the coldest day in the Maine winter. I use it to plow snow and fill potholes in my driveway. Pins are 90 plus %. Run...

1985 John Deere 455D For Sale
I have a 1985 John Deere 455D for sale. It's in Bridgton, Maine. I'm offering it to readers of JD Crawler web site first. Track and pins are at least 90%. They were done , along with the engine, about 7 years ago. 1 1/2 yard clamshell bucket. New batteries. Starts in the winter on the coldest days. ...

I have a 1984 John Deere 455d. It was mentioned that in a HLR trany that if it was ran properly that it shouldn't be the clutch. I use my clutch all the time. I always step on the clutch, come to a complete stop before changing direction and let the clutch out. Just like I was driving a standard shi...

As far as the existing fluid in the lines, I first collapsed all the cylinders and didn't worry about it. The amount in the lines VS the holding tanks is minimal.................Also, Change all the filters !!!!!!!! And for argument sake.......I always use all John Deere products...............That ...

I thought about the same thing when I decided to change all the fluids in my John Deere 455D crawler loader. I had leftover staging planks which I set 2 on each side and drove the machine onto which raised it up about 5 inches. I then set a cheap plastic reinforced tarp under the center section . I ...
