Reskin Blade

I had my 350 blade reskined and the worn out tilt etc parts redone. Went pretty good. Got a shop with a step bender to curve a piece of hardened dozer plate to the same profile and a local guy who is real good at making thinks fix me up. Actually Andrew has it now fixing lots of broken and worn part...

Skidding logs

Found a site that sells a quick attach grapple for dozers. Might be expensive but bet you could get a used grapple and make your own.

Stuck Cover

I believe there are internal dowel pins that are what are making it come off hard. Also someone might have used a liquid gasket to hinder removal.
My cover came off hard but the bolts are the best way.

Frozen In

You think you had a problem last winter I was scalping brush off a real wet area that was frozen over when I broke through the top layer that was about 6" frozen and the rear end sank like lead up to the winch in the mud. Now this was mid January and that nite the weather went to 10 below. Couldn't ...

HARD sTARTING

A few weeks ago another person had the same issue with starting. I mentioned that loggers I knew put quick couplers on their trucks and machines and they just drove up to them, plug into their warm truck and sat in it until the machine was warmed up to start. Heaters work but if your on a different ...

Cold Starting

Hey Guys,
Lots of people I know put extended heater hoses on their trucks and machines with quick couplers so they can drive right up to them and plug them into a hot engine and let it warm up while they sit in a warm vehicle.

Dozer Move

Try getting it up on some round logs or pipes. the friction will go away and any small vehicle will push it. Make sure to hook a chain on so it dosen't roll away from you and you now have a drive through garage.

CatD3B

Stan, I can't tell you differences but as I own a D3B it is a good dozer. I knew the previous owner who ran it in his construction business for years and he told me it worked well and it has worked well for me also. Mine has a winch and arch and six way. Actually it is pictured in the photos under "...

New Sulpher Deisel Fuel

I called my fuel supplier to fill my tank today an they tell me the new law to supply low sulpher deisel is in effect. They also say to check with engine manufacturers in regard to fuel additive as this new fuel may not properly lubricate. Any thoughts about this?

Winch

I saw an old Oliver crawler this winter with a front PTO driven winch that also ran via chain drive. The owner said his dad had it for many many years and he was selling it.
