Let me start by saying I have no experience with Deere rams so I can't tell you what the seals should look like or where to get them. However, I have seen rusty and pitted rams be polished up, resealed, and stay pretty much dry. The problem is they will quickly rust up again, so you have to keep the...

I think you guys are on to something. I couldn't tell what was actually moving in relation to the rest of the machine but it seems likely its the engine/tranny not the loader frame.

I'll take a closer look this weekend. Unfortunately this thing is out in a pit far away from any tools or shop.

Thanks for the replies. Based on that parts diagrams it looks like the missing bolts on my machine aren't related to the loader frame apparently. The bolts I'm talking about are located almost directly below the foremost floor plates and run vertically. They're at the bottom of the 'column' where th...

JD 350 Loader Frame Falling Off

I've got an original 350 with a loader on it. The bolts that hold the loader frame to the rest of the tractor have all apparently vibrated out, so now the loader frame just flops around. These bolts seem like they're supposed to thread into nuts on the inner side of the frame. The problem is there d...

My friend's machine gets up to 230 during use. How big of an issue is this?

350 operating temp

Hi, what is the normal coolant temperature range on a JD 350 with a 3 cylinder gas? I tried searching, but couldn't find the answer. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I actually took a close look at the machine today. The bottom rollers on the problem track don't seem to be tight and look like they could wobble. One of them actually looks broken. They seem much better on the track that doesn't fall off. How hard are new rollers to get? Wha...

Thanks for the help! Unfortunately the hydraulics aren't hooked up right now. My friend broke the cover of the hydraulic reservoir when he was taking it off. I inspected the rollers as best I could and they all seemed to be intact. I'm not sure if they or the idler have any wobble in them, but we ma...

350 Track Falling Off

Hi, my friend has an original JD 350. The machine will frequently throw the right track during operation. Basically, the track stays on the teeth of the sprocket, but it gets on the outside of the bottom rollers/idlers. This is causing wear on the inside edges of the sprocket teeth. The sprockets se...

Looking at a JD 450

Hi everyone. New to the site. I'm looking at a nearby JD 450 I may buy. I'm not sure if its a 450 or 450B but its late 60s, early 70s vintage. It has a 4 cylinder diesel and also has a backhoe. I haven't seen the machine yet, but the seller told me it doesn't steer. I assume this is most likely beca...
