I just saw your reply after emailing you. The nut on the stripped side is 2.25" the other side is like 2" tho. Was there different shafts avail?

Re: 1950 MC left track wont work!
I got the hub nut off(not really tight) and found the hub stripped out completely. Awesome. I'm gonna keep an eye out for a new hub. Tomorrow I'll hammer in some shim stock so I can get it to move on it's own again.

1950 MC left track wont work!
So there I was, playing with my crawler in the mud(about 2-3"). I knocked down an old building then started backing away when my left track stopped working. Immediately, I thought it was a rock in the track. After shuffling it out of there, we found the track off the front idler. I loosened the adju...

starter rebuild
I found a rebuilder, 40miles away. The toddler and I brought the starter to him. 42 bucks later, one fixed starter. He told me that starter is built a hellofa lot better than any big rig starter even. He recommended I change up to 12v. According to this guy, he would bet that it could handle 24v eas...

interchange?
It appears that I have more problems than the switch. I pulled the switch, and put power straight to the copper lug, it would spin, very slowly. I pulled the starter, found worn brushes and a dirty communtator. I replaced the brushes, cleaned the communtator and checked the armature for shorts. I sl...

starter on a mc
I went to start my Mc , 2 turns then nothing. Ahhhh bummer. I pulled the switch off the starter, everything burt/melted. I tried cleaning the copper, fired up once then wouldn't go after it was shut off. I finally got it popped off by putting 12v to it. Anyone know a reputable (USA made) switch? I pl...

I agree.
I am used to "direct fit" requiring modifications. Even working with brand new cars, some mods need to be made as required as per "engineering information". I work on street rods, hot rods and tractors too all needing some tweaking here, welding and cutting there. Its just, well... SHOCKING that it ...

Choke cable
Wow, color me amazed! I bought a $6.95 choke cable from the old fleet farm. I figgured I would have to modify stuff to get it to work but the threads were the same pitch on the shaft of the choke knob!!! woweeee! Just took the old knob and cable out of the cast, popped off the carb, removed all the ...

misfire
see if you can tell which cylinder is misfiring by checking the temp of the exhaust manifold or jug., If it is happening in cold wet, I would suspect spark stuff, cap/wires etc.
I don't thinks it is a carb or fuel issue cuz your choke doesn't change it.
