450c winch question
Hello all hope everyone is enjoying the summer. I am looking at a 450c with a winch on the back. Is the winch hydraulically run or off of a pto? If it is run off a auxilary hydraulic valve can I disconnect the winch and use that valve/circuit to run a grapple?? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks Ho...

Durability of a 450c trans
Hello all, I had been reading some info on the web about jd 450c HLR trans and that when they get up in hours they have a tendency to break down. IS this a common problem, weak link, with the 450c's?? Are the 455e's and d's any better?? I just wanted to get some opinions from people who have had and...

450c loader linkage play
Hello all, I was looking at a used 450c track loader with a 4 in 1 The dump linkage for the bucket seemed to have a lot of play in it. Meaning you can shake it back and forth, push it towards the machine and pull it towards you. I am guessing the pins and bushings are bad?? I was reading some of the...

some friendly advice
Hello Mike, this is a great site for info and opinions. I am in a similar position as you looking out for a crawler. What I have learned about the 350b is that first it uses dry clutches which require a lot of service and attention. Most but not all of the machines I have looked at have had problems...

3 point hitch on a crawler??
Hello all, I saw someone was asking about a 3 point hitch on a 350 crawler. I have seen a few old 350's for sale on the net with a 3 point hitch. Was this a factory option? Was it on all 350's, b&c? Loader and dozer? What about the 450's? The person also mentioned something about having a pto with t...

450b engine question
Hello all, I had a question about the engine in a 450b crawler loader. The current owner stated the machine has a "newer 4039 engine" I am guessing that this is not the engine it came with?? What is the difference between the 2. Thanks Howard

no let it go
No I did not buy it. The winning bid was for $6300.00 a little more than I thought I wanted to pay especially since it needed some track work, had been sitting for 2 years and would have needed all the filters changed and fluids as well as the hydraulic hose that was leaking. Also I got a little tur...

THanks for all the input. I am going to try and take a look at the machine and see if it makes his reserve. I will check out that one adjuster as was pointed out and compare it to the one on the other side. If there is a grease fitting there I will see if it will take grease. If not I will have to a...

crawler loader vs compact track loader
Hello, I was just wondering if anyone had some thoughts and opinions on how a traditional ccrawler compares to a newer style compact track loader. Such as a jd350c vs a jdct332. I know the ct has more horsepower and would be faster. When a ct has a breakout force of equal or greater power than a 350...

jd 350b condsidering to buy
Hello all, nice site good info. I was looking at a jd 350b with a 4 in 1 bucket and a winch on the rear. I have a couple of concerns about this model of machine. 1. Are the dry clutches as big of a problem as I have read? I was also told that if you stick a peice of wood or rope to keep pressure on ...
