I don't see any seals
Between transmission and steering housings? just on the inside of the finals. and of course the sealer used for putting the finals back on, which are leaking.

update on leak
from what i see, It must be leaking between final and steering housing. The use a rubber form a gasket to seal. My one question is does the transmission oil go into the steering housing? from what i see in the service manual, there is no seal between the transmission housing and the steering housing...

John deere 550A Steering housing over full and small leak?
I have a JD 550A crawler. the left side steering housing started to have a very slow leak( stays wet) on the inside. I noticed that both the steering housing were over full, so was the transmission. The dozer works just fine, but should i be worried about the leak? I'd say the steering housing were ...
