O.k. Lavoy I'm ready. I have called every John Deere dealer in Maine with poor results. Oh I would have had their undivided attention if I were purchasing a new excavator or something but seemed too bothered to look up the parts I need. I would rather buy from you . I need the afore mentioned cam pl...

I called the machine shop this morning that rebuilt it for me and advised them of the situation.
The guy said they would fix it.
I hope so. this little project is going to bankrupt me!
Thanks again.

Lavoy The way it sits now the hole in the cam bearing is lined up with the hole on the top of the block that the oil pressure gauge screws into. If you look through the oil gauge hole you could see the flywheel. if it were installed Am I going to have to remove the cam to push the bearing in further...

Lavoy
I don't see how a plug will fit in there.
The cam bearing is almost flush with the block and the cam is inset about an inch from the end of the bearing.
I take it the plug installs inside the cam bearing?

New engine ready to install except.........

Hey Lavoy or anyone else. The new motor for my 430 is together except for the flywheel. My question is : The camshaft is exposed at the rear. In other words while I was installing the flywheel I noticed the end of the camshaft and bearing is showing to the rear. I looked in the book and it doesn't s...

Lavoy I guess I need to buy the service manual for this rig! I shamefully admit to buying a manual on Ebay for 16.00 and it is no more that a poorly photocopied copy someone else bought. It is not even legible. If you have one how do I buy one from you? I can't seem to locate a place on the site to ...

Well I got back to the old girl last evening and have determined that the cam is what is stuck. After I drained about a gallon of water out of the base I could look into the cam from the top and she's plenty crusty in there! Lavoy I don't know yet if I should be optimistic or not. One one hand it is...
