Pre-luber
Jason, This is a great idea to prolong the life of an engine. Normally every time you start an engine-any engine- you're turning it over dry. The marine industry, for one, uses an electric device to pre-lube the engine every time it's started. It's permanently mounted on the side of the engine. For ...

350 Diesel
Crack the injectors one at a time. Crank it over till you see fuel leaking out. If none flows, then it may be the injector pump or clogged filter.

Rebuild
Very, very good advice Lavoy. Put nothing back together that's not exactly like it was the day it was assembled at the factory.

Oil contamination on fiber disc
Oh, you're certainly right there. Just saying, if the disc's were fairly new and got oil on them, I don't know any better material to use to clean them. Chances are finals got to be torn down anyway to find where its coming from. I cleaned mine years ago using Toluene and have never had an issue sin...

Oil contamination on fiber disc
If you can get your hands on Toluene, the problem solved. One of the worlds best solvents for removing oil and grease from anything. It's used quite extensively in the industrial machine cleaning business. Just be careful, as it will eat up most types of chemical gloves.

Oh Yea!! Parallel for sure. That's exactly the reason I did it as I use my dozer with the frame mounted arch in the winter pulling out firewood. Also for a point of information I put synthetic Amsteel Blue winch line on it. It has a higher working load rating than 1/2" steel cable and 100' only weig...

Basket Case
Interesting subject. I recently built a battery box and mounted it right behind the seat, tied it to the under seat battery and with the two, it really cranks the 12 V starter over nicely. When I do a tear down and complete restoration this winter, I plan on changing over to an alternator and negati...

You're restoration
Wow. very nice workmanship. You've done exactly what I hope to do this winter to my 1010. Excellent job on the blade work. I bought a machine last year that has a 6 way and will swap it around when I do the tear down. Did you replace all bearings and seals while it was apart? Any trouble getting the...
