I was able to find the JD wrench for $30 bucks so I ordered for less trouble. I did try swivel heads etc. but was unable to get anything to fit on with any of the sockets without grinding it down. Thanks This has been very helpful...

450c crawler
What do you guys use to remove the starter bolts/nuts on this dozer. I cannot use a swivel head socket due to tight fit between housing and nuts. You know it is a tight fit and before buying all kinds extensions or sockets, I thought you guys could help me

Fluids/filters
Yes, all fluids and filters have been changed. It wants to sit for a minute after putting in gear and then slowly will start moving. Both directional(cutting) clutches operate as they should but after going forward - on flat ground- will need to put in reverse and then back to forward? I will do a p...

1977 John Deere 450c
I need some ideas regarding diagnosing problem. It engages but is slow to respond forward and reverse. It moves the best in 3 high but will move in all but has no power to push much. Motor is strong but thinking I may need to drop motor to replace clutches etc. Any help would be appreciated. This is...

Yes it is clean. I will adjust and try that before removing engine. I may have a winter project. Thanks (This machine has all new undercarriage and runs out great)

:?: I have a 1977 450c and is slow to move forward or reverse even after changing all filters/fluids. I have read where changing the hyd. pump is the most common repair. I need to know which pump; the one in front of the radiator or the one in the trans., case where I would need to remove engine etc...
