Cutting Edge

Has anyone heard tell of Cutting Edge from Maine?
I knew he had some health issues like some of us.
Was just wondering how he's doing.

Re: House remodel question

Hi 77 ford, these are my thoughts on this.I'm not a carpenter but I've been around the block a few times dealing with blown in insulation. Is it fiberglass or cellulose?Cellulose seems to settle after time and doesn't have the R value it did when blown in.Sounds like its been there a while if sheet r...

Re: Tach/Proofmeter cable for 420?

There are half a dozen on ebay right now and I imagine Lavoy can supply them.
Got mine from ebay and it works fine.Make sure no cable kinks and well lubed when installing.

Re: adjuster seals

Thanks Lavoy,
seems that I read that there are different diameters?
Will get diameter anyway and will check on type of material used.
The wiper seals are all the same?

thanks,

adjuster seals

My friend is working on his 1010 and needs the two seals that the track adjuster piston needs.
Seems there's a piston/plunger seal on the end of piston and a wiper seal in the housing.
Local JD dealer says they can't get them.Lavoy and others any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: jd440ic charging issues & hyd cyl issues

This is the type of adjustable relief valve that I used.I installed it in the pressure line between pump
and spool valve.Works great and reasonable priced.Adjustable from 400 to 3000 psi.
Just google 30 GPM relief valve 8688947

Re: 6 volt change to 12 volt

I had swapped out the ammeter for a black rimmed voltmeter and
actually looks like it belongs in the dash next to the JD water temp gauge.
Voltmeter way better than ammeter, but that's just my opinion.

Re: 6 volt change to 12 volt

When I changed my 420 over to 12v,I used the 6v generator but changed regulator to a 12v one. The orginal JD 6v gen has a third brush so was able to get 12v from gen.It charges a little less than 13v and with a small battery and small cables, starter is not hitting hard at all.Polarized the charging ...

Re: Plasma cutters

Hi Terry, I got a versa cut 60 that I bought from Eastwood just over a year ago.The thing works great. It was on sale for about $100 less than it is now.Only thing I didn't care for was the ground lead. Its 10' long and had a plastic coated wire.(very stiff)I replaced it with 20' of either #1 or#2(can...
