Hi Safetyjoe I agree with Lavoy that you will spend more than it will bring if you sell. Having said that I have not regretted my 420C rebuild ( much the same as your 40C ). If you check my show and tell of 20 Feb 2014 you can see what I started with. I spent a lot of years of spare time on this 420...

Thanks Ray & Ray III. Under the yellow it was green so some time in its life it must have been repainted yellow. Here in the interior of B.C. there were a lot of these 2 cyl. Hi everyone, I finally finished rebuilding the Gearmatic 8A winch this summer and wanted to share my pics. Hi Don't know if you have an exchange but www.forestryconstruction.com list a rebuilt Gearmatic control on their website. under Inventory/Miscellaneous. Item SKU002 Gearmatic Master Control Rebuilt Exchange. Hope this is of some help.

420 Distributor

I had the same problem as you and found a rebuilt dist. at Restoration Supply Tractor Parts at www.tractorpart.com. I purchased one from them and it was completely rebuilt with bushings, points, cond., cap. Good service and good product. They also buy rebuild cores. Hope this helps.
