MC Winch

Did anyone ever make a winch for an MC? Would love to put one on mine rather than the belt drive.

Float adjust

I've always done it with the carb right side up, and never worried too much if it was exactly a 1/4" inch, and generally err on the side of a bit more. Most of the time when you put a new float in its pretty close; the idea is to get the valve to close before the bowl gets too full or overflows. Ben

Slow blade

I do have a tool carrier. Had wondered if something was not quite right.

Thanks, Lavoy

Blade down pressure

Had to smile when I saw your post. New to crawlers, I thought my MC wasn't capable of down pressure until one day, when distracted, I held the blade lever back and noticed the front of the tractor starting to rise. Turns out there is so much play in the linkage and the hydraulics are so slow...........

LED's are a great idea, but with one drawback; they don't generate much, if any, heat. I know this has caused problems with traffic lights in snow storms since the snow and ice tends to build up on the lenses. There are aircraft landing lights available in LED, but they are 12 volt (or 24) and EXPEN...

Spark

Turns out it was spark as Lavoy suggested. New points and condenser and some high voltage wires and it runs well enough now to tell that the carburetor is trashed. One step at a time. Then on to the charging system.

Thanks, all, for your help

Thanks, Lavoy. Got some ignition parts on the way. The battery door is a mystery. Seems like I ought to be able to slide the shaft out of the hinge but it won't budge. I'll unbolt it and go from there.

These things are a hoot.

MC won't start

Hello, All. Just bought a 1952 MC which we drove on and off the trailer, and puttered with a bit, but now I can't keep it running. Get a few pops, from two to about 6, and then it quits. Comfortable around engines of all sorts, but new to these (love em). I can't tell if I have a spark issue, or the...
