re....worn valve holes?
our pre 42000 2010 had worn pin holes.....went to lowes...ace hdwe...etc...found brass tubing like 5/16id or od....fits pretty snug in handle and allows the pin to fit thru the tubing...just have to be sure of size of the tubing....sure takes a lot of slop out of em..... just my version thks dtoots1

recleaning fuel tank
dozer...2010 pre 42000....tank came off a backhoe?
had rusting liquid in it....cant tell exactly what ii is....said tank was off and upside down on unit....

jt.......that is what i was trying to say...that pic is very good detail and makes it a bit easier to relate the issues... what i was relating the key switch to is a in line kill switch....only 2 tabs on it and is either on or off....which is what the 1 and 2 tab positions on the key switch do. anyw...

alt wiring
jt....ok...what i call the kill switch is the 2 tabs on the switch that literally turn the power on....1 is bat term...other turns power on..,.3rd tab is the extra power to the starter or what i term the initiator wire cause once u release the key it only contacts is the bat and power keys, i assume...

jt.....,ok...so now the question is which tab on the ignition switch does the diode wire go to....i have the pink wire on the kill side tab..which has the resistor on that wire to the coil....,the other tab is the initiator to the starter and am wondering do i have resistor on wrong tab as it dont m...

jt....from ur pics.....looks like tech telling me wrongly.....he says diode wire shd go directly to + coil.....pics show to ign switch.....does have ign switch wire with resistor to + coil....i do notice another wire from the + coil to starter on the r terminal.....not sure that i have an r terminal...

gas carb adjust screws
ben.....those specs are load adj screw is bottom of bowl....2 turns back from seat.....idle adj screw is on top toward front of trac....1 turn from seat....those are actually start..will need to fine tune...

o.k. here is rest of story....alt does have a volt reg in it....and harness does have a diode on it... my tech says to run wire from kill switch tab and resistor in line just before running wire to coil...then the wire from the alt with diode on it also goes to the + side of the coil... my nephew th...

have compression at 95 95 105 and 110 1 thru 4...books calls for 125
should this start with this compression? or will i have to do bottom end cyls etc ...ie...do i need at least 125 psi to detonate???
is gas job

2010 pre 42000 ...alternator
i'm baaaack... question is...1103076 63amp delco alternator 12v neg....date 9c23... does this have a volt regulator inside it??? wiring harness does have diode on it from the post on the alt....not sure if it has to have it.... do not have it started yet but do not want to burn up distr...pts etc......

got it from boneyard....wheeled tractor and crawlers use same one fact is part number is same....only difference i see is whld outer face is flat crawlers is more streamlined...back on and together just waiting for alternator and fan belt from owner getting alt checked out.... meanwhile while cruisi...

thks for that info....
gonna try a tractor boneyard to see what they may have.
found a outfit with manifold surfacer....costs $50 to surface...but even he said it mite not do what we need......
so will keep looking a bit..

well folks.....forgot to mention that this is a gas job..... guess most of u folks have the diesel and no one seems to have a manifold available....willl the wheeled manifolds fit this dozer??? i did see a thread where someone mentioned they had to modify one from a wheeled unit tho they did not spe...
