well folks..am having a question on my timing...it seems that my points are opening just after it goes past the wire. i have not moved the distributor since i bought it and has been running ok, points gap is at 22 thousandths and is open about 3/4 inch past the wire on the outside circumference of d...

i found that happening on a friends 2010, finally got tired of issues and took starter off ad checked all connections...found one loose enough to turn the connector just a bit....tightened it and no problems since.....keep it simple...check em all..

is battery up to par? have you checked for water in the gas....marvel schlabel carbs have a plug in bottom that you can take out and drain the old gas and water, many times i find that to be primary reason these old girls do not want to fire. and they (carbs) like to be clean, also the elbow inlet h...

i will second JimB motion...First though you need to go thru linkage...for loose or worn fittings and adjust the clutch...unfortunately that entails removing the rear belly pan, unless you have or can fabricate wrenches bent to clear framework to adjust the clutch mechanisms. to replace engine clutc...

Thanks JimB, Setting about a week after i power washed it and cleaned mud off... Have had no trouble shifting even when i put it back in shed and pedal feels same as always. So would seem to be stuck clutch and i will try to do as suggested once weather dries up again....will have to start in gear t...

It is good idea to put your location in your profile...you can access that in the login drop down box. others here will surely tune in to answer your questions.
tho basically you can check to see which valves are open on the number 1 cylinder, believe both should be closed.
