re..cylinders....your local hydraulic shop will probably have the cups and seals...however...if you can take them apart yourself...and replace all needed ..will save you a bunch...cylinders mite need honing if any bad areas....my jd440ic cost me $300 bucks for 1 cylinder..gotparts needed for 2 cyls ...

Believe you are talking about the throwout bearing carrier...t/o rides on that for steering clutch..also be sure and set the pressure plate with the jd7 gauge

Tranny/hydraulic fluid a bit low....calls for 20w30 oil....aint none hereabouts...what to use? alternatives??

Looks like Lavoy has the answer!!! so is good to know!...while reverser is out good time for that to be checked/rebuilt! and probably engine clutch as well..

Now...can someone answer the question on the ...engine clutch....does that also need the 1/8th inch spacing..likes needed for the steering?

If not...and is used...will that create the problem encountered??????

Mr. Huffman, To be clear....did you adjust it with the jd7 gauge? It is kinda bit confusing just how to place the thing. Also did you check all the linkage, as all the wear points add uo. and then again check the pedal free play...it would seem that the clutch is close but not getting the pressure n...

there is adjustment for both clutches in the reverser..forward and reverse..shows in manual...

Hey just look ahead...Spring is coming!! and then summer and you will want some of the winter cool! Always some good if you look for it! Also got my jd440ic out to plow asphalt drives and lift ...push..the ice and show off....without tearing up lawns etc..got wheeled 6 volt started a bit later, need...

So as noted in post from Lavoy that the gauge adjustment, with our old worn mechanicals, will need that additional 1/8th inch to compensate the difference between new and old!!! i had missed that info, which is why mine runs right at the edge!
