450 injection pump?
I have a 70 450, it's a low hour machine. The guy running it said he was coming up a hill and started losing power. Eventually it just powered out and died. When I got down to it it had pushed oil out between the head and the block. Had the head redone and now it just won't start. It's getting fuel ...

overfilled the final drives on a dry clutch machine
Has anyone but me ever been silly enough to put 2 1/2 gallons in there instead of 1 1/2? I drained it but the dry clutches are soaked so it won't turn at all. Are there any home remedies out there? I'm trying to finish up a small timber job.

I pulled about 36 inch diameter red oak up over a slate bank yesterday, it was quite a pull for the little thing. I cut probably two foot deep ruts while working it. There was no slip, both tracks pulled as they should. What little I know about the workings of a crawler setup I was sorta thinking br...

450 trouble shooting tips?
I have a straight 450, been working it in the evenings pulling wood. To start it turned great both ways. After a couple of evenings of skidding turning right became a huge problem. Adjusted it and now on level ground it works about 70% of the time, less if your pulling a lot of weight. The faster yo...

JWB, I can send you an email with the pictures attached. Otherwise i'm not sure if I can get them on here. The casting in the side says D T54608T 0. Let me know if you would like them. JTRichard, that would mean its a straight 450 correct? Mine does have the hydraulic assist in the steering linkage,...

I will try and get some pictures of the winch and the tractor up later today if I can get my technical advisor out of bed....ha ha. She has been sick all weekend. Also, the serial number plate under the seat is fairly legible and the number in my first post is accurate. So I guess i'll have to keep ...

Thanks for the info. I'll double check the numbers, I think now its gonna turn out that I bought a B model as mine is a non turbo. Like I said I'm new to this and was going off of information about the models from folks that had them. So as a rule of thumb all C models are dry clutch turbo tractors....

Just recently bought a 450c, just wanted to find out the year and any other common problems or strengths of the machine. Its my first dozer so I'm new to a lot of this. I will probably be hitting you guys up for some info possibly frequently, provided anyone is willing to help...ha ha. The serial nu...
