Sorry I didnt mention it is a gas engine. Is there any place the engine oil can contact other oil. Or is it as I feared that my head gasket or o rings went The engine runs fine and the previous owner said the top end of the engine was rebuilt and that the deck was bored out. This would make me think...

1010 engine oil

Hello everyone I changed the oil in my 1010 the other day. I filled it with the correct amount of oil. I than ran the crawler for an hour or so and the oil pressure and engine temperature was normal. Yesterday I went and rechecked the oil level and it was high by almost a quart. At first I thought I...

That should work. I have seen at our local store a small adaptor that goes on and switches a 1000 to 540 and a diffrent shaft that does the oppisite. They are rated up to about 85 horse so it should work for you. Good luck.

Congrats on your purchase of your first john deere dozer. It looks like a good dozer. I would buy a john deere manual either from deere itself or a reprint online. In my opinion deere's manuals are the best available for your machine. One thing to check is that wear on the sides of the pins of your ...

It is amazing the dozer runs and functions. But today i was working on it more and i noticed in my service...

Thats around what i was thinking. Do you think those tracks will tighten up at all or is there no more adjustment. Also correct me if im wrong but those pads are pretty worn off. At least compared to my 1010. I think this dozer has had alot of use and abuse. Probally should stay away.

I didnt think it was worth that. What would it be worth down your way. I know the price varies place to place. Also it looks like the tracks are tired and pretty loose. Would this machine be similar to my 1010 acempt 2 cylinders instead of 4
