Hi guys,
I don't have my manuals with me at the moment and need to pick up some supplies after work before heading to the woodlot .
Does anyone know the capacity of Hygard for the reverser on a gas 1010?
Also, what fluid do folks use in the transmission and what's the capacity?
Thanks.
Dan

Found it!
Thanks Lavoy,
I cleaned up the crud on the right side and found the tag. Serial number is 10726, which I believe makes it a '61.

Help identify - no serial number
I picked up this machine yesterday. The seller had it listed as a 1964 1010, but there is no serial number tag so I can't be sure. The gear shift is on the dash so I think that would make it an early year. What else can I check to narrow it down? Also, does anyone know which winch model this is? htt...

New to me 1010
With help from a friend who has the right rig for hauling, we delivered the 1010 the 74 miles to my cabin. We cleaned it up a bit and tinkered a little. The reverser works fine, it runs strong in all 4 forward and reverse gears, the steering feel solid, and the 6-way blade does exactly what it's sup...

bought it...
So I was able to talk the seller down, and bought the 1010. Will be bringing it home on Saturday. I'm waiting for my manuals to arrive in the mail, in the meantime a few small questions: Does anyone happen to know the bolt diameter/thread count for the bolt holes on the front side where the front of...

1964 jd1010 gas
This is the 1010 I checked out today. Started fine, no smoke, all 4 forward gears and reverse worked fine (shift lever on the right of the dash). The reverser worked. The 6way hydraulic blade worked fine in all positions, and easily lifted the front of the tractor off the ground. The dozer spun both...

Update on 440 buying advice
Well, I had time to take a longer second look at the 440 this afternoon. I managed to jack the dozer off the ground to check the rollers. 1 on each side was very loose and wobbly, and one of the right seemed seized. Everything else seemed ok, but the deal breaker was the seller wouldn't move on pric...

correct wear measurement on pins
Thanks for the input guys. I hope to get back to the machine to do a more thorough look at the undercarriage. I've read that 23" across 5 pins is good, whereas 23.51" is worn out. But II can't seem to find a picture of the exact process of measuring the distance of 5 pins. When measuring, do you mea...

1960 440IC buying advice needed
Hi everyone, I'm s new member, and may be making my first dozer purchase. I have several old ford tractors so am familiar with gas engines, but need some help before I jump in. I am looking at a 1960 440IC gas, 5 speed transmission with an inside blade (#63 I think) not far from my home.I gave it a ...
