Re: # 60 blades

Our local spring shop makes all their own u-bolts. I know these are a little different shape but if there is a spring shop in your area, give them a try. They may be able to help

Re: 420C Carburetor

According to a chart that I have, TSX245 was used on the 320 and the 420 calls for a TSX641. Since the 420 has a larger displacement and more power any of the earlier carbs would probably limit it's power.

Re: Mc roller grease

I use John Deere corn head grease in my 40 crawler. I got the adapter for the grease gun from Fastenal part#0426007 $22.00 in Canada

Re: 40c PTO

Thanks Lavoy. Looks like I'll have to find a PTO attachment if I am going to buy this winch. The owners manual that I have for the crawler mentioned that the high speed outlet is used for things like winches and hydraulic pumps so that had me hopeful that I wouldn't need the PTO attachment.

Re: 40c PTO

So, if I want to hook a Braden winch up to the high speed shaft, what do I use?

40c PTO

Do I need the same PTO attachment for either the regular or the high speed outlets on the rear transmission cover?

Re: Winch fo a 40c

OK. I talked to the seller again. He has the two gears and the chain but I will need to find a power take off shaft and housing. From my parts book, it looks like this is unique to the crawler. Do you have one or are they hard to find?

Re: Winch fo a 40c

Talked to the guy on the phone and he went to look at the winch and says it is a "Braden Winch, Broken Arrow" but couldn't see a model #. He is not sure what model his John Deere was that he sold a few years ago after he restored it but says it was originally green and was a 2 cyl, so I think I am i...

Winch fo a 40c

I have been looking for a winch to fit my 40 4 roller crawler. I talked to a guy who has a winch off a 420 crawler. Before I drive 3 hours to look at it, does anyone know if it would fit on the 40 or would it need modification or a different mounting bracket?

40c track pad fasteners

I am going to install my pads on a new-to-me chain using Grade 8 bolts. Should I use lock nuts, hex nuts and lock washers or just hex nuts? Thanks.
