420 running ......
Last fall I bought a 1957 420C with a Henry loader. It sat for 10 years outside. Took off the loader to check things out - motor was free with decent compression. Engine starts quick, sounds good, very little smoke and good oil pressure. Got the seat fixed up - thanks to Lavoy. Today was nice day fo...

Used a pipe wrench to turn the front pump coupler to loosen it up. Also pulled valve cover to check for stuck valves. Compression check showed 70#'s. Put plugs, point...

420 Question ......
Working on my 'newly aquired' 420 today. Took the bucket off the loader to work on the front. Looks like the centerline of the engine is about 3 inches to right of the midpoint between the tracks. Am I seeing things ??

The rockquards are missing on the right, I'll have to find replacements. Left side track frame has been repaired (welded) at least once. That's quite a bit of weight (2000#'s empty) on those points. I am going pull off the loader - to do other repars/maintenance. Don't know if I'll be putting it bac...
