Re: 350 b
Have you found a JD350B parts machine in Cental Alabama. I have one not running. On the fence about getting it running again. Would like to talk to you before I decide if you are still needing one...

Good day all. Just checking back in after 10 months or so. My crawler is still sitting where it was when I cut the power back in June. I DO however have the bucket supported in the up position. I'm still building my barn, I doubt it will be anywhere near finished until maybe the end of the year. I d...

I lost a pin so I made my another out of 316 stainless. I work at a machine shop that has a bunch of shaft scrap. I turned a 3/4 x 15deg. chamfer on the installation end and a hole for a large clevis pin keeps it in place. There is a 3/8 thick shoulder on the other end that keeps the pin from coming...

Thank you all for your replies... In regard to moving 3000 yards with the crawler, an excavator who lives in my area will rent me his dump truck as needed. I intended to load the dirt into the dump truck for transport. I agree, 3000 trips to where I need the fill would not have been practical. All o...

Professional help for my 350B
Some of you may remember my starter issues from earlier this year, but I finally got the girl running only to find out my starter was killed by a heavily leaking rear main seal. I have yet to tackle the project because I've been clearing land for a barn. I need to excavate anywhere between 1000 and ...

Thanks guys. I have both the service and parts manuals. I did not see the engine removal process in the service manual, I must have overlooked it or it is very vague. I'll check again. If I'm not mistaken, isn't the bucket on a loader the only thing that keeps the arms moving as a unit? Do I really ...

Just searched 38 pages for "seal" and found...
I couldn't find anything related to engine removal or rear main oil seal replacement on a 350 B. I searched for "engine removal", "engine replacement", "rear main oil seal" and "seal". I went thought all 38 pages of "seal" returns and found only two related to the main oil seal on 1010 crawlers. So,...

After finally fixing the starter after months http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=9345 I was able to use my 350B for a couple of evenings for a total run time of about 2 and a half hours. I dug up about 6 large stumps and 10 smaller ones with the backhoe. I had to take a leak so I...

She Starts!
Well, after speaking on the phone with jtrichard and jumping out what I thought was the "S" terminal with the main battery cable, nothing happens. Richard tells me that my solenoid is bad and explains why. After hearing the explanation, I mention that neither terminal on the solenoid was labeled. I ...

I am so discouraged. I put the new solenoid on last night (after checking the resistance of the coil) and when I hit the start button.... nothing. I'm really at a loss. I don't know where to go from here. This is why I stay away from things of an electrical nature. Please let me take the time to exp...

Stan and JT, Thank you so much for your help. I have the solenoid that came off the old (bad) starter. When testing on the bench as Stan pointed out, I did just get a little spark. When I check the resistance as instructed, the measurement was between .6 ohms and 7 ohms... very low. When I removed a...

Thanks Stan. Just for clarification, my 350B is a diesel. I checked a solenoid on Thursday (not the one in the tractor) by using jumper cables and the tractor battery. Negative was connected to the solenoid case and I applied the positive to the "S" terminal on the solenoid. Got a small spark at the...

OK...Thank you very much guys. I think I have enough to work with now. I'll be at the farm tonight and I'll pull out the meter again. One more thing... how can I test a solenoid when I've pulled it off of the starter? I know, there's probably enough information given already but I just want to make ...
