Re: 440IC w/91 loader - possible to remove brake pedal?

You had me excited for a minute hoping it could be cast steel and I could just weld the tab back on. I just checked by both the grinder method and drilling on the broken tab, for sure it is cast iron so that sucks. I'm going to cut off an inch of the brake pedal so I can get it off where I can do pr...

440IC w/91 loader - possible to remove brake pedal?

After getting her stuck over the tracks in mud my steering clutches were toast, ended up having to walk her back home about 800 feet 4 inches at a time with the bucket. Mind you this was after breaking several chains, straps, trees, and two snatch blocks! Makes a good reason to buy another one just ...

I broke two pullers trying to get those track frames off, finally made my own that wasn't going to break. It was nothing more than a piece of plate steel welded to the track frame with a 1" fine pitched screw and a couple nuts. Just tightened the nuts, some heat, air chisel, beer, cussing, more beer...

440IC Doing a little work around the yard

With five new rollers and other odds and ends she is working strong. I've thrown each track once due to my own stupidity of heavy loads with no counter weight, both times big rock got wedged. I've put on about 60 hours since I got it back together. Working on clearing a couple acres in back that was...

If the price is crazy I'll just make one on the lathe at work. I've found Lavoy to have reasonable prices so I'm anxious to see if he can get one. I'm still shaking me head that this even happened. All in all this little loader crawler does much more work than I expected from it, I'll still learning...

Please let me know! Also if you have the rubber elbow that would save me some hunting at the parts store. The butterfly is intact and I was able to braze the small piece that snapped on the carb intake flange. I'm still in awe of how on earth this happened, I need to be more careful I guess. I notic...

Choke shaft for TSX-756?

This has to be a 1 in a million................... While clearing a couple acres in my backyard, pushing a couple stumps the crawler suddenly dies. When things just die I've learned to not try to start them and take a look around first. While pushing the stumps a small 3" tree got in the mix and whe...

yes you need a new master and 2 clips BUT the bushing is NOT supposed to fall out like that it should press in ... hoe is the bore in the outer link where the master rides? I didn't think that was supposed to happen :( ID of LINK = 1.578" OD of BUSHING = 1.563" Unsure of best way to deal with this ...

I popped the clip off the 2nd master-pin and it tapped out with a mallet. The OD of the pin in the middle is 0.984" and the ID of the bushing is 1.024" so it seems the bushing is OK while the pin is trashed. I'm sticking to the plan of welding the broken link and bushing, repairing the front most ro...

Not sure what the loader weighs (it is a Deere 91), but I discovered without the rear weights the dozer likes to tip forward with even an empty bucket! The rails where the master pin is located seem to be of a different vintage, the pads on that section are bolted using square nuts Vs. hex nuts for ...

I hope everyone doesn't mind lots of photos, if so just let me know. After getting the old girl in the garage this morning it became apparent that taking the track off would be the best approach. Removing the track was a two beer task and some left over Chinese food from last night. I'm guessing thi...

Thanks for all the suggestions and info, I'm going to attempt the repair tomorrow. I'll post some photos of the repair as I go, even if I screw it up at least there will be photos of what not to do.

It is 10 degrees outside so with some luck it will start in the morning!
