Thank you to everyone who replied. One more question: I do have the manuals. The section on removing the final drive doesn't say anything about removing the tank unit (fuel tank, hydraulic tank and controls, and battery box) from the loader, while the section on removing the steering cluch says this...

About to attempt steering clutch replacement (350B)
So, the short story: The Monday after Thanksgiving (2014) I brought my 350B ('71, I believe) loader to a recommended shop to have the steering clutches replaced (you guys scared me out of doing it myself after reading all the posts). After weekly calls and a few visits, and a lot of lies from the sh...

Looking for experienced repair for 350B loader - CT area
Hi - if this is inappropriate here, I apologize - just let me know and I'll remove it. I am looking for someone in the Hartford, CT area (reasonable distance away is ok) who is able to replace both steering clutches on my 350B loader. While I was an auto mechanic for many years, I do not have a shop...

350B loader value question
Hi, I have a 350B that runs well, has 3736 (actually 3735.9) hours and is in pretty good shape (see pictures). Everything works except: (wait for it) the tach (I replaced it with an original, but it seems the cable is bad), the rear light (broken), the dash light (also broken), and...the right side ...

Thanks for the reply - I will try driving it around holding the the arm back to where the clutch should be disengaged, but before the brake engages. I did try that a little, maybe 15 feet. I aslo tried 'popping' the clutch. Actually the free play is about the same. The right side lever - the side th...

350B steering clutch issue
I'm still working on a 1971 350B crawler loader that had been sitting 20-25 years according to the previous owner. After a bit of work, it runs well. I have one issue - the right side steering does not work. I suspect the clutch is rusted engaged or something is broken, not letting the clutch diseng...

Wanted: Seat Frame or picture and dimensions for 350B Loader
Hi, The subject says it all - I have a 350B loader with no seat or fame and it looks like sitting on the valve bodies and such would be fairly uncomfortable.not to mention visibility would be poor. I could pursue the disney school of design and weld up something that would work, but I would rather s...

350B Diesel engine oil priming
Thank you. This is what I had thought to do, but was hoping there was a better way - like the remove the distributor and turn the oil pump with a drill like you can do on gas automobile engines. I looked at the manuals and didn't see a good way - the other thing I thought of was to pump the oil into...

350B Diesel engine oil priming
Does anyone know if there's a way to pre-prime the oil in a JD 350B diesel engine before starting it? I have a 350B that's sat for 20+ years. It's now pretty much ready to start, but I'd like to pre-prime the engine oil so I don't start it dry. Thank you.

Thanks for the replies - Sorry for the late reply - I was tied up with work. I am going to make two supports out of 4" angle iron. Just to be sure, I got a 2 ton tall stand to put under the cross member of the loader arms. (over-developed sense of self-preservation, I guess). Still trying to figure ...

Advice on 350B (new to me)
Ok, so I now have a 350B loader (diesel) sitting in my yard. I bought it from a friend's father in law that retired quite a while ago. The machine had been sitting under a tarp for 20-25 years (20 years being the minimum guess from the family members - the father in law has alzheimers and thinks he ...
