Thanks for the feedback Lavoy. That is the same thing the mechanic said. That being said if it doesn't start tomorrow when I reconnect what other things should I look into?

Sorry - It's a 440 IC. I was told the same thing from a heavy equipment mechanic that has been to the farm last 3 w/e's to help with this. I just picked up the new rebuilt starter again today with new armature all welds test is good. Unable to do a load test.

I recently had a starter rebuilt, and re installed. SInce than I'm unable to get the dozer to restart. I went from a new CCA 520 battery to a new CCA850 battery. New battery cables x 2. Every time I try to start it gets so hot that it burns the covering off the battery cables. I've cleaned the post,...

Hello,

I have a 440 gas dozer. My starter appears to have met it's last start. The crawler has been converted to 12V. Do you rec to have the starter rebuilt or buy a new one?
