Re: how to paint a crawler

You will save on yellow paint if you prime it then put a coat or two of ivory off white paint down before painting it yellow. Then 3 coats of yellow will work instead of 9 see thru coats of yellow  when spray painting with automotive paint. That's what my new paint supplier got me to do. And i...

I put handles on the back and ruining up the limb risers also lights and a grade/pitch gauge. now my front yard has a 6+ percent grade away from my house. My sump...

Re: Repairing Steering Lever

I welded up both of mine with the mig welder also the clevis holes to take out all the play. It's a little hard to drill out after tho.

I also drilled and tapped holes for grease fittings where the bushings go.

Thanks. I think 3 1/2" bore would work good on a JD 350 or similar size machine. My machine will lose traction or stall out before the relief valve opens while pushing from the ends of the blade. The main pivot was all egg shaped so I up sized it to 2" and the pivot for the tilt is also 2" now with ...

Thanks

The cylinders have a 4" bore so with how their set up I should have about 8-9 tons of strength at the ends of the blade.

I used a John Deere 3 spool/six way valve off a 450c that I bought as a basket case off of a wrecker 2 hours away.

I put in Murphy switchs (murphy switchgage®) on my 450. Oil pressure and coolant temp. Because I'v heard of people getting their oil pan punctured or their rad pushed in and blowing a motor.

Plus when you have them. You can spend more time seeing what your doing / not your gauges. :-)

power steering

I rebuilt both power steering boosters last week because it would leak out all the oil in a day. You can get a seal kit for each side but beware the seal kits from john Deere after 2014 don't have vee packing T 24781. It seems that the kits that have all the seals/packing are made in Taiwan before 2...
