HLR pulling in neutral

Ok guys I’ve finally got the loader back going but still have a few issues. With the loader in neutral on the hlr it still pulls and moves forward. If you put it in reverse it seems to still be trying to pull forward for a moment. You can run backwards for about 20 feet and put it back in neutral an...

Injector return line hose size?

Anyone know what size hose is intended to fit the tee on the injector line that returns to the tank? Fitting measure around .200-.210 but not really a standard size. I had a short piece of VW 5mm is hose left over that fits well.

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution? SOLVED!

Well I can’t say for sure it was the sole problem but it was the last thing I did that solved the starting problem. I went through and installed all new battery cables. 2/0 welding cable ran ground to motor and went to start it and nothing. Just a click and no more. Did some voltage test and every t...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Jim it does have master switch so I will try that if cables don’t correct. The loader originally had a single car type battery. I upgraded to a car quest battery with following specs. BCI Group Size: 31T Cold Cranking Amperage: 950 A Cranking Amperage: 1185 A Negative Terminal Location: Top Right Po...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Dr loch I am thinking the same thing. That is the same starter I purchased as well. 2/0 welding cable is on the way so I’ll see how that does. LeonardL yes it ran as god as normal once it was started. No issues at all. I’m hoping it’s cables that’s causing the issue. Battery is brand new so not a pr...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Thanks guys for all of the suggestions. Checking the voltage at battery it drops to around 10v when cranking. 12.6-12.9v when not trying to start. I will check from starter positive to ground and see what that reads. Could be bad starter. It’s from DBelectrical so typically pretty good reputation. T...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Ok guys came home from work today and messed with the loader some more. Looked at the hydraulic pump and of course no pump disconnect and with loader arms down no way of removing nose. Decided to try battery fresh off the charge and same thing, it turns over about 2-1/2 revolutions slow before stall...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Gregjo

I would agree no starting fluid has been used. Won’t turn fast enough to warrant it lol. Only ever used starting fluid a few times since I’ve owned it when it had sat a long time in cold temps. So I don’t think that’s the problem

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

No diverter valve. Have moved all controls everything feels normal and returns to center. Think these are open center valves anyway right? I’m wondering if there might possibly be an issue with hydraulic pump causing it to load the engine. I can’t rem Er if mine has the disconnect or not. Think I’m ...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Ok guys still no luck getting it to turn over like it should. It did turn over more than once a few times messing with it but slow and very labored. Using jumper cables directly to starter so no wiring issues to worry about. What I’ve done so far. 1. New battery 2 New Starter 3. Pulled drain plug no...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Thanks for the input guys. I will check for water today as seems most likely. No mix up on hose it was on out rigger and was running when it happened. Just moved loader to current location and parked after that happened. Will update with findings.

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Jim,

It will turn one revolution every time you try to start it. Loader has been outside and I did forget to put bucket over the stack at one time during the sit. I don’t know if it got rain in it before I realized I left it off.

78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

Ok guys need some ideas of what might be going on. I have a 78 450c track loader. Loader was running fine last year and I hooked the back hoe up and blew a hose. Changed the hose after sitting a few months and wouldn’t start up. Hot battery good connections but would only turn about one revolution a...

AKA Lever?

I found a site call wengers that shows the side plates and pins. They are calling it lever inside and outside. Does anyone have a diagram of how these are assembled? Mine are welded and now I am thinking that isn't right
