fuel additive

I have a 2010 diesel and have had problems in the past with injector pump gumming up. Can someone please advise as to a good additive to stop the problems with modern fuel gumming up the pump? The unit does not run for several months at a time but is always indoors. I have tried several but an not s...

I was to understand that the valve was to keep a certain pressure in the pump to help lube it--on my Farmall 706 the return line went into the bottom of the tank and perhaps it kept the extra weight of the fuel isolated from the pump. I just know it is a good test to see what you are dealing with. M...

Just remove the one-way valve in the return line and see if the machine will run normally. Many people have run for years this way (including me). If the line plugs up again, then you know the internal ring is failing and you can tackle that problem.

teeth

I could not find the proper teeth for my 2010--I just took some steel and made several to fit and then hard-surfaced them.
So far they work fine--did not put them on the corners of bucket.

You should keep in mind that the diesel will have more pulling power (torque) for the dozer. I find that is an important reason to keep the diesel for this type of equipment Gas might start easier but if you are going to use the unit much at all the diesel is the way to go.

primer

Does your machine have a primer pump to aid starting? If it does you can use that to add extra fuel at any time and prove if lack of fuel is an issue. Just a thought.

Can you get any black smoke from your machine at all? If not it would seem the issue is fuel --not enough. Could be line restrictions or the governor not opening up in injector pump. Also many old posts about particles in Inj pump from internal breakup of plastic ring. It would seem to me if you cou...

2010 trans trouble?

Sometimes my 2010 will seem to release when going down a long hill--it only seems to do this in the high range-(has HLR trans) When I get to the bottom it goes fine again..any thoughts? Trans gauge shows good pressure--if I can believe it. Seems to do it in 3rd gear high range only? thanks

bearing removal

You can run a hot bead around the inside with an arc welder and the bearing will fall out--no fuss no muss.
