Hey Guy's Well after checking clutch pedal freeplay (which was excessive) and readjusting, everything's back to normal. I do still suspect something is wrong with the transmission just from the clunking coming from it in neutral with the engine running. Going to pull the cover off this afternoon and...

MC Drivetrain

Hey fellas how's everybody doin? Got a pile a snow throughout the last couple days and decided to flash the ol crawler, she performed great. Got the driveway cleared and walked it back to the shop, put the blade down, put er in neutral and let the clutch out and the engine stalls! Start it back up a...

Hey there, not as of yet no. Time seems to be scarce these days!
Yes the solenoid is separate from the starter, the starter motor itself has only one terminal.

Mornin all, well I'm kind of up against the wall here... I removed the "start" lead from my starter solenoid (which is divorced from the starter) and still have power going to the starter motor, the solenoid is brand new from Napa so I can't see it being bad right out of the box but stranger things ...

Thanks for confirming my suspicions boy's, I'm on my way up to the farm with my multimeter now to find the fault. I was wondering however if the starter motor itself could have failed internally but I can't see that happening. She was running great all afternoon and then just came to a slow halt, I ...

Had the wire from the ammeter to the ignition switch short out and my starter has been wanting to crank ever since! Any help and or ideas would be appreciated Regards B...

The breather is a "free flowing" type unit

Mornin boy's So I removed the governor, found that the lower dowel pin was made out of an ole piece a wood, also that the weight arms had been coming into contact with the front gear cover due to a worn nose cone bushing in the cover. Also that the gov drive gear has a few chipped teeth... (Not a ma...

Afternoon, well I checked that distributer shaft for play, yes there is. I also noticed that the governor lever comes into contact with the air cleaner mounting bracket before it hits the governor stop screw... Funny thing is that she only revved about sixteen hundred rpm at high idle?.. Any ideas? ...

MC Hunting for an idle

Hey guy's, so my ol gal has decided to take up an erratic idle, it isn't a major by any means but nonetheless apparent. I went through the carb, installed a basic kit and load adjustment assy still up and down ever so slightly. Checked ign timing and found it to be all over the map as well... The en...

I was hoping to use the four roller under the MC
Hey Lavoy, the sprockets are the same then?
I was thinking that I should be able to remove the tracks, crossbar clamps and hydraulic paraphernalia.
Pretty straight forward I figure.

MC undercarriage swap

Hey guy's I've got a working MC, and a 4 roller 40 for parts. The 40 has a Gearmatic twin cylinder angle dozer on it that I would prefer vs the inside mount straight blade on the MC. Also the three roller is quite the rocking horse, I figure the four roller would be more desirable. Any suggestions o...

So it appears that I have an incorrect drive hub on my left side.
There were half a dozen pieces of keystock taking up the space where the hub is supposed to be tapered to match the axle.
The hub on the right side seems to be good and tight, the left has beat the axle all to heck.
