Is it possible that you have the relief valve set above 1000 psi? And it cracked the housing?[/quote] Couldn't answer that, This thing came with the house I bought, and was not in running condition. While doing the engine I noticed the cracked pump. One problem seems to expose another. My brother to...

Not really sure why you want to go away from the factory pump, there is no gain to a crank pump, and likely more hassle. You will need a whole new front casting unless you butcher the heck out of yours. You will need a really small pump about 9GPM, and will have to fab all new lines and such. I can...

Thanks
Thanks

No, I hope to sleeve and rebuild the original engine. I just wondered if there was something else more modern to bolt up with or without an adapter plate so I can use the dozer for now. Hopefully the rest of the machine is operational, I am told that it is.Lavoy wrote:Do you mean another 420 engine?

Engine Swap
Hi all, new to the site. I just purchased a property that came with a 420 crawler, 1957 I think, no serial number. It had antifreeze in one cylinder, upon further inspection I found a crack in one cylinder. I will likely fix that but in the mean time I am wondering if there is any readily available ...
