Re: 1010 steering clutches

Oh completely agree with you guys. Used to run into this all the time in the general motors parts days. Guess I'll just consider myself lucky that I got 8 for a little over $400.00 CDN.

Re: 1010 steering clutches

According to him - dealer got deere(corporate) involved and they said it was supposed be package qty. and was mistake on their end. Would be interesting to order again and see if they are pkg qty. Not like a manufacturer to admit they were wrong on something like this. lol This all took place thru D...

Re: 1010 steering clutches

I've got to check on exact part # from him. What we found during this(what I was told - sorry long). We thought better than using same discs again. Thought to try deere. He ordered disc# which he thought meant package of 8 fibres. When it arrived it was 1 disc not 8 which was expected. He called dea...

Re: 1010 steering clutches

Re: 1010 steering clutches

Kinda what I was thinking. Yes, the deere discs are more - I know I'm on the hook for difference(thinking there would be some sort of parts credit) and was hoping supplier would give him some hrs. and if not at least some kinda of break/split on labour at his end. Was thinking he would see his suppl...

Re: 1010 steering clutches

Machine is done, right strg. clutch replaced again after 8 hrs. Have manuals and while I understand its a pretty big job, he had the drive out in about 4hrs(can get it without removing seat and fender and track pins were new and it was apart not long ago). I understand there are a lot of variables b...

Re: 1010 steering clutches

Can see that. First set came from A&I. This time used O.E. deere plates.
Can 1 side of steering clutches be done in a day?
If there were bad parts - I'd get them. lol

1010 steering clutches

Have a couple questions regarding 1010 clutches. To start, have a 1010 that I have pretty much gone through from top to bottom(with some of the work done by others). Once I had machine stripped down I took it to a fellow to have clutches replaced along with a few other things that I wasn`t comfortab...

1010 gas starting issue

Have a pretty much restored 1010 gas crawler. Only have about 8 hrs. on it since its been done. has always started right up and ran good. Now after cranking 20-30 seconds fuel will drain through the copper or brass strainer on bottom of carb bowl. Took carb off everything is good , clean and needle ...

1010 Track roller and front idler seals

Looking at going over my idlers and track rollers on a 1010 gas I am building. Wondering if there are aftermarket seals to replace am2011t and at10032t. Saw a couple of older posts on subject but wondering if there is now an alternative to the prices of the JD seals. Getting closer to machine being ...

Thanks for the replies. Yes it will move when pushed/pulled. Tried that at first thinking something might be stuck in tranny. Pulled in neutral then in gear to see if something might be stuck that way - no change. Was kind of wondering if they had an issue with shift forks/linkage etc.

Swollen clutch packs will drive forward without any slippage as normal - correct? Fingers get pushed in or bent and you have nothing to push against? Should I have a brake on that side with that issue? No brake or anything on that side.
