Bulldozer Impossible

So I think I did nearly the impossible: I wrote a romance-suspense novel on bulldozers. Okay, I will give you a minute for that to register! :D I am not joking actually. Since my wife left me a year ago, I took up writing and have chewed out five mystery novels. These are full, 85,000 word novels wh...

Re: Nothing Good to Report

Yeah it is kind odd, as if it is world war 1 trench warfare. Neither one of us want to be together, but neither one of us want a divorce either. If I get divorced it means a lot of money, and if I pursue Anything then she’ll get arrested for parental kidnapping. I got a friend who is in the exact sa...

Nothing Good to Report

It’s been awhile since I logged on here, mostly because I got kind of kicked in the teeth. On September 18th I came home from work to find nothing. It is a long story but Katie is from NH and basically missed her family more than she loved me, but she must have liked my stuff because she took all th...

Re: Just an Update

One thing you learn quickly about teaching is, as important as learning a trade is for students, there is other stuff to teach them as well like soft-skills, and employability skills. I found out that 100% of our students have never had a committed relationship, which is very sad. I mean, everything...

Re: Just an Update

You just made my day! I am so glad to hear that you are doing well and that Katie is still putting up with you. If you can survive teenage daughters, you will be just fine. Thanks for the update, Lavoy Yeah, Katie is doing well too. She is working at a nursing home as a nurse and really likes it. T...

Re: Just an Update

Glad to hear life is getting back to normal for you. They just won't let the plandemic die here, our rates are so low it's laughable but they just keep trying to shut more down and pass more restrictions. It's beyond insane.... Yes, we are one of the first schools to have students back I think . Th...

Just an Update

I have been really busy like everyone else I guess. I got called back to work in June, and so I have been doing that 5 days a week, but with no students, although we are opening today for a few to start. They will have to be in quarantine for two weeks, but after that, we can get them back in the sh...

Re: Late Model vs Early Model

Hey wait a minute now, new John Deere equipment is sometimes green, like their new skidders and feller-bunchers! I always thought the late models were the losers because there is not as many used parts floating around in junk yards so you have to got to the dealer for that sort of stuff, and get cha...

Staying Busy

We were just told we would be off work for another 60 days. I told Katie yesterday that we minds well buy some paint and paint the house so that I have something to do. I am not really one to stand around and do nothing, so in the last 2 months of elevated toilet paper pricing, I have: Redid my mast...

Re: I Am Afraid of the Answer

Wow, I did not realize I had not updated everyone for awhile. I tried to pull the oil pan in place, but there was not enough room in the frame, so I had to remove everything, put the unit on pipes and roll it down to the main part of my barn where I could get at it to lift it. Then I had to lift the...

Re: I Am Afraid of the Answer

Cost wise, I got about $400 in this genset as of right now, probably another $200 to go without the injection pump and rebuilt injectors; but a new 20 KW generator is $10,000... That is not a bad deal, all in at around $2100 for 20 KW's... For $2700 shipped to the house, I can get a 40 KW pto genera...

Re: I Am Afraid of the Answer

$1100 seems a little high, but maybe Perkins is higher. I can likely get you an exchange pump if need be. Lavoy Hey thanks. If you could get me a price on that it would be nice. All I know is that it is a C.A.V pump, so it is pretty basic, and used in a lot of engines. This one is the Perkins 4.108...

Re: Feathering Ye Ole Nest

Regarding pictures...you might notice the picture over the headboard. That is actually of Katie and I. We dressed up like the 1940's one day, and went to the local railroad station that has been used in a lot of films because it still looks like the 1940's. Using a cheap camera believe it or not, on...

Re: Feathering Ye Ole Nest

Beautiful and just exactly what is needed. i cannot see paying thousands to someone else when whatever a person has available to work with will do the job and last a lifetime and longer as well as being beautiful. Good Job! Thanks... One thing you might notice, or at least now that I mention it, is...

Feathering Ye Ole Nest

Katie and I figured, since we can no longer add to the nest, and with four daughters already (6, 13, 14 and 15) we minds well feather ye olde nest instead. The biggest issue was our master bedroom, it was completely utilitarian, and while functional...very boring too. So I made a new closet for me (...
