I have had coil failures on my 1010. Starts with weak spark. Open and close points with distributor cap off and see the spark at point contacts.

I have a 1010 gas and I had problem of starting and changed the ignition coil. I find to turn gas on momentarily and turn back off with minimum choke the best way. My engine floods quick. After cranking engine starts easy, maybe to turns. Mine has a 12 volt system.

contact Broad Crown distributor as they assemble gen sets with 3 cylinder John Deere engines. Brown Crown is a UK company but have distribution

Is there a resistor in line with the coil check for bad connection as when load of the spark the voltage drops out.

I have a person very interested in my 1010C. If I was to up grade what would a suggestion be for a newer model? I would like to keep the weight
under 10000 pounds. I like having a dozer around for odd jobs.

Have 1010c gas. I have adjusted the left steering brake once, but after about 4 hrs usage the adjustment seems to have returned to the original problem of having to put lots of pressure to turn. Received operators manual today and it calls for 85 wt on drives. I will
probably try synthetic when changing. Thanks for the input.

What kind of oils to use for the drive gears and is regular tractor hydraulic oil ok for the hydraulic system?

Does john deere have a record where tractors were first sold?
