throwout bearing not returing

Also another thing that I was ignoring that I am think I might try to deal with is the fact that the return spring for the throwout bearing does not have enough force to overcome the rusty shaft upon which the throwout bearing rides ( the little forks), I started to try to drive it up and out but am...

Finally got some time

Welp I finally was bale to get freed up enough to work on the crawler today. I made a mistake and messed up the brake band. I had 6 chunks of all thread with nuts and a small ruler. We stabbed the shaft in the clutch pack first so as to make sure it seated in the pilot correctly. Then started drawin...

Pilot bearing problem

Most of the parts have come in. I still have to check the post office to see if the pressure plate came in yet. I am having some issues with the pilot bearing. I took all the clutch plate and disks out, with a hammer and punch as they were all rusted together. Got to the back gear where the pilot be...

Anyone want to chime in on issues they may have had with this job. Suggestions are welcome as well. Keep oil off brakes and clutch plates....kind o...

only on moving parts... mostly

I tried to lube up all the linkages. and did indeed soak the shaft down that twists the throwout bearing fork with penetrant oil as it was froze up. No oil on the clutch itself perhaps a little on the brake but will just have to live with some brake cleaner on it or a new band brake if it comes down...

oops

I just realized I may have made it sound as if the throwout bearing is the issue. Throwout bearing just turns real rough, so it will need replaced while it's apart. I have to investigate further as to what the real issue is. But I have a lot of stuff to keep up with.....lols . Who doesn't ???? There...

Introduction and JD 350 brake / clutch

Hello all, I am new to the board here. Thought I would introduce myself and my machine. Name is Rob the machine is 60's model JD350 with a bucket. I joined this side because JD does not seem to much help with these older machines and I kind of need the machine for small jobs around the house. The sp...
