Re: 450 b brake adjustment

Okay; I think I found the elusive stop. There is a tab sticking out from the transmission case against which the brake pedal's arm can rest. That's got to be it. Can anyone confirm this?

Re: 450 b brake adjustment

I'm trying to adjust my 450B brakes and steering levers. I still don't know what the brake stop looks like. Is it the tab that's part of the floor plate? If so, my pedel won't go that far back. Do I need to adjust the brake rod yoke? Thanks for the help.

450B lugs and stalls when steering in reverse

My 450B engine started lugging and stalling if I tried to turn while in reverse. It turns, but the engine lugs badly. Steering needs adjusted anyway, it doesn't turn right anymore. I was thinking it might be throw-out bearing or something like that. Ideas?

10-4. Got one ordered. Hope that's it. Also, it looks like that part # is no longer available (T11290). That have another set of seals with a different part number though. Not sure if those will fit.

By the way, I have fuel spraying from under my FIP on the external of the engine. Is that from the same issue, or do I have additional problems?

Well, I got the same problem on my 450B - fuel all the way up my dipstick! What I DON'T have is a mechanic! How do I go about replacing the umbrella seals on my pump myself, and where can I get the parts? Thanks for your help.

My only hesitation is that it is fuel rather than water is that when I draw fluid out of the pan via the dip stick and soak a paper towel, and light it, it does not burn beyond the oil. Any thoughts here?
Thanks!

Definitely not coolant. That level has been rock steady.
Thanks.

Something other than oil in my oil

I have a 450B with something watery in my oil. I am also leaking oil from around my pan (loose bolts for sure and probably a bad gasket, too). I know I have a leak around my injection pump. Do I have the same problem?

I had a similar problem, albeit without the fire. My problem was incorrect placement of the fuel filter gaskets that blocked the free flow of fuel through the filter. Not likely your issue, but just thought I'd throw it out there. Good luck.

BK, I had the same problem with my 450B - exactly. Mine turned out to be "user error," I believe. What I had done was when I replaced the fuel filters I placed two of the large round gaskets inside the top rim of the filters (it was the only place I thought they could go unless they included two ext...

Wow! You've done what I would love to do some day with my 450B. Awesome job! One question though; would it be worth it to bead blast and powder coat the parts versus any other spray method...assuming one had a large bake oven available?
