It used to have a hoe on it, but the hoe was stolen long before I bought it.

Is there a way I can verify that I have the pump, plumbing and hooks for it?

jd400 backhoe fit on a 440 icd?

I'm still looking for a backhoe for my 440icd and I ran across a guy who has a jd400 and a parts tractor for $2,500. The 400 apparently has seal issues and the previous owner ran it for years despite that. When he was done used would just drain the water out from the oil plug... Last run a week ago,...

thanks for the advices. I didn't end up getting to take it apart yet, but I'll probably try and do that this weekend.

Can I get parts at the local JD dealer? or is this something I will end up going to a Lavoy or ebay for?

Nasty gas leak

Quick post, because i gotta go meet someone about a chain saw, but I have a nasty gas leak here. Its in the hose that goes in to the cyclinder (central in the picture) and its not just a slow drip, its pretty substantial especially when its running. Fasteners seem pretty tight, so much so that I exp...

Got the 4th post in and the first platform bolted up. The post happened to be where I dug the stump out and backfilled which was nice since I could dig it out with a shovel.

I'm definitely firing the tractor up for the next 6.

No idea where you are but here's a 440 icd crawler in AZ with spare parts to boot.

Thanks for the clarification Lavoy. mini kahuna thanks for the thoughts on the heavyness. I was thinking that might be an issue as well. Dug 3, 16" holes 2' down on Sunday with a dig bar and a shovel. I really wish I had a backhoe or an auger. By the end there I was seriously considering just firing...

Thanks pop pop. I'll try and post a picture this weekend. The cover will probably be reasonably easy to bend back into shape, but in the picture just before the stump, you can see that the bracket / bolt holes on the front top of the tractor were snapped off. I assume the cover attaches there, but I...

I actually have no idea what I'm going to do with all those clevises... or what he did with them; they came with the tractor pretty much as you see it. I think for now, I'll just let them hang off there like those guys who hang a sack off their hitch. You may have a truck with balls, but I got a tra...

I think it is a return line, it only leaked when I wasn't using the loader. It wasn't jetting out too hard either so I'd say pretty low psi. After I wire brushed it off and degreased it, I can see where it had been welded before. Didn't look like a very good braising job. I used the quick stuff, did...

Ummm random bolt I found on the ground after using my 440

Umm I found a random bolt on the ground after using my 440. Can someone please identify it and tell me where to put it back? Might need a new one, the upper threads look worn down, but the bottom ones look good. Looks like its about 11/16" shaft, 1 1/16" head, 1.5" length and about a 3/32" thread. h...

I don't know diddly, but i thought i read using ether to start a 440 icd is really a bad idea. The guy who I bought mine from specifically mentioned it as something to avoid unless I wanted to pay someone to rebuild my engine.

Tractor was in a guys family since it was a new and a nephew was using it to build a break on the side of an AZ mountain (a hill if you're from a place with real mountains). He ended up having a tree come down over the top of it and bust it up pretty good. I have the hood but its bent all to hell. A...
