Re: Model 95 back hoe troubles
OK. First, I do have a boom lockout 'valve' and a swing lock, too. Both are mechanical. The swing lock is a 7/8" pin that drops into a hole into the yoke and through the casting on the swing cylinder. The Boom lockout is a square pin that drops through a casting forged into the lower boom. Nothing h...

Re: Model 95 back hoe troubles
Again, many thanks. I'm banking on the crossed line - crap in the system approach. I'll keep you posted as I work through the process.

Re: Model 95 back hoe troubles
OK, Thanks!
So....what is a 'boom lockout valve', where do I find it and how do I check it? I've been through both the operators and service manual several times and never ran across such a thing....

Model 95 back hoe troubles
Troops, Many thanks for all the previous help - I may just be nearing the light at the end of the tunnel! Maybe. I have a JD 350 gas with a #95 backhoe. The crawler has a Drott 4 way bucket that works very well and has all kinds of power. The hoe, on the other hand... The hoe sat for many years befo...

350 Hydraulic line replacement kits.
Folks, I have a 350 Crawler/Loader with a Model 95 backhoe which needs a lot of work. To save me the time and frustration of ordering hydraulic lines one at the time, I wondered if anyone here has heard of or purchased a "kit" of all the hoses used on such animals? I've been replacing them piecemeal...

350 Gas quits every 30 minutes
Troops, I have a '68 350 gas which has fallen in love with my checkbook. I got this last year intending to use it to skid logs and tops when my neighbor logged off his woods next door. I expected some issues with it and I've not been disappointed in the least. In addition to the usual pre-try-to-use...

Well...that was 'easy'!
Once I got the boom stretched out I found the replacement was very straightforward and simple, but not what I'd call 'easy'. I decided to replace all the accessible lines in the boom at the same time so I kissed another C-note or two goodbye. And from the look of things, I'm just going to go ahead a...

Model #95 Backhoe Advice Needed
Troops, I just blew the hydraulic line for the bucket on my #95 backhoe. I haven't stretched the boom out to look at it yet, don't want to give up any more fluid than necessary. Anyone have any advice as to how best to proceed with this repair? It looks like the fluid sprays out from the very bottom...

Many thanks
Hey Leonard! Thanks for the help - I'll get on that as soon as the new shelter is up and the firewoods' all stacked nice and dry inside. Is that fuel pump something I should be able to get at a regular auto parts store or do I have to go online or to JD direct? BTW: I live in a microscopic little to...

JD 350 Crawler Engine Question(s)
Hey Gang, I'm new here but I think I might just become bosom buddies with a couple of you.... I recently took ownership of a 1968 JD 350 (Gas) Crawler Loader with a Drott 4 way and a backhoe, from a friend who shed it during a divorce. This is clearly a tired machine and I am a tired old man. But in...
