You got me on the PTO till I looked it up in the books. My 450C, an 1980 model, has a winch which is PTO driven that runs full time. The PTO lever was never there. I learn something new every time I follow a new thread.. You guys keep up the good work

Look Good
Those sleeves look so much better than the ones that came out of mine. One sleeve would have looked like a jack-o-lantern if you put a light in it. After looking at them I could not believe that all the holes held and let go at the same time. One hole was about half the size of a small pencil eraser...

Bill, I would say post the pictures. I think it would do everyone good to take a look. My best guess is about 95% of the people who think they need a new head gasket on a older machine will need one only because they are about to tear down the motor and replace the sleeves. I do not think that most ...

John, I would allow a little more than what mine cost. I do not think that I could have gotten that done that cheap anywhere else. The cracked block is a pretty remote thing. It is the sleeves 99 times out of a 100 if the leak is in the motor. My dozer is about a 80-81, 450C and that is what I thoug...

RB450, my in-frame cost about $1700 at a small shop that came reccommended by several small construction companies. I believe it was about $1450, plus what the machine shop charged for the head work. Two of the four injectors were replaced. The shop did it over one weekend and loaned me a truck and ...

Bill, The oil cooler is on the right end of the radiator, and can be seperated. The sleeves can be changed in-frame. I have not done it but my motor was rebuilt in-frame. Not sure but was told that everything can be changed out except one set of bearing that way. Should be no problem for you and you...

I have $10 that says you have pinhole leaks in at least two sleeves..... Make sure you put the water treatment in the radiator when you finish the rebuild.

Thanks digitup..... I do have a 3325. I wish that the manual had more in it about the winch. The only times I have have used it was to winch out a stuck farm tractor, and get to dozer unstuck or off high center (working where some timber had been cut, you know a 3 foot dia stump just don't move much...

450-C Winch Works
Does anyone know the winches…. I have a 450-C with winch. When it came in a few years ago, the winch control cable was not hooked up. Later I hooked it up and had to replace the control cable. It seemed to work fine for what little I had to do with it, but now does not seem to have the pull it shoul...

Andrew, Sorry I had the dozers mixed up. I had my motor rebuilt in frame for under $1800. You should get a complete bench rebuild for about $2500, depending on needed parts. With the 450D having a new undercarriage you should have a great working under $12k. That is cheap if you can get it. The winc...

Thank You..
Thank you all so much for this forum... I sure wish I had found something like this 7 years ago when I first got my little dozer, the 450C. Moved back to the old home place and started cleaning up the old fence lines and clearing off fields that had not been touch for twenty years, redoing the farm ...

What?
Why is he parting out the 450D. Looks like it would be cheaper and easier to put the D back than to change out blades on the two machines......
